61, we all know you don't like Nova and can't wait for him to have a shtty start so you can talk about Ubaldo and the magic he woulda shoulda been for us...

But in case you didn't notice this thread was NOT after yesterday but a week ago...when fatgiambi was again short on his meds wanting to instead be "right" than the yanks winning.  Kinda like you and this odd Nova/Ubaldo thing.

The reason I brought up Jimenez is because someone else started a thread about how bad he was and how fortunate the Yanks were to not get him. I was only pointing out that Jimenez is not worse than Nova and if you add Pineda into the mix the Yanks wouldn't have been any worse off if they had traded for him.

The Yanks are playing rather poorly now so its natural for people to start threads about what is wrong with the team. I haven't seen a dozen threads ripping Nova but discussing his pitching performance is certainly a relevant topic. I just don't see why personal attacks have to part of that discussion. You take every chance to bash Tex, but nobody is telling you that you are off your meds. This reminds me of High School where the nerd gets teased and then the nerd turns out to be Bill Gates or Steve jobs.

You don't think a 5.69 ERA and .326 BAA is important?

It's that you can't wait to vent here and it's annoying. Everyone posts concerns. You just trash everyone for whatever reasons.

What should we discuss then? The color of the grass? Maybe the quality of the food? How about the P.A. system? Too much noise or too quiet?

It's not what is indeed discussed, it is how one starts off saying it ... and if the poster is a person who only comes around to post the negative that they find ... never a positive word to be said.

Mo, a lot of the attacks are based solely on personality.

The facts are that Nova does have a .326 BAA and a 5.69 ERA. That won't win many games. As I pointed out, last year there was thread after thread about how bad AJ was because he was the easy whipping boy. If you look at the stats, AJ was far better at this time last year than Nova is this year.

Can you dredge up the threads and posts where you trash Jeter, Pettitte and others who don't deserve it simply because you deem them "relics from the past"? Oh what's that? It's not popular to do that now that they're playing better than anyone else on the team? Convenient. Everybody know I've been hard on many of these guys so don't lump me in as a Pollyanna but fatgiambi your posts lately have been out of control and you've been called on it. Dump the victim nonsense, it makes it worse. And seems the usually hyenas have leapt to your defense here so enjoy it.

i'm not sure why you're so relentless in your attacks toward me. i would appreciate it if you'd stop harassing me for expressing my opinions about sports on a messageboard.

no matter how good of a first month jeter had in the second year of his deal (after not coming close to being an $18mil/yr player last year) i still wouldnt have given him that amt of money and years. im rooting for derek as much as everyone else but i think deep down cash would have agreed with me about giving jeter that kind of money at his age. i do hope im wrong over the duration of the derek contract. i very well could be and if he continues productivity this year and next year then i'll admit it. even then though, a .300 hitter with very little power, average defense at best, not a great amt of speed is not worth $18 mil per year. the way he's playing now he sure looks like he's worth at least $10 mil/yr. again i hope he keeps it up.

i dont trash pettite ever and it's because it's a one year deal and it's fine to give it a shot because it's pettite. i was however against the kuroda and freddy garcia deals for guys 35+ for big money when i thought the young guys could put up similar stats and be cheap.

i just think our decisions are too often focused on past accomplishments and we're fearful of pushing our youth and it shows w/ a dull, uninspired, static brand of play sometimes.

i dont get the outrage either. it's like anything critical is unacceptable no matter how valid. it's unfortunate. isn't this the point of a messageboard - to raise topics we're interested in discussing? something tells me the yankees don't need "yankeeloon" coming to their repeated defense on the yesnetwork boards. i think they can manage just fine. i don't attack anyone for posting a thread, ever. the more opinions the better, even if seemingly outrageous. being critical of your team is part of fandom. people need to relax and remember what we're doign here is just having fun talking about sports.

First of all, I don't even dislike you.  Secondly you want to say something and then NOT get a response. Too bad! You don't get the right to post without getting a reaction.  You call it harassment but you just can't handle being called out. Other posters like 61 can't see the context of this thread because it was amidst about 4 other ridiculous whiny threads you started that day.

Thirdly, I've blasted our own players/management before so you obviously have me confused with someone else.

Your "Jeter can't field, can't hit, no power, can't run" is RIGHT UP THERE with Jonah's "Mo.Is.Done.".

Can't handle it? Sorry.
