Was Monteo a potential good bat? Sure he was, but that's what you have to do to get other good players. When we got Clemens we had to give up Wells, we gave up Soriano to get A-Rod. And anybody who says that wasn't a good deal is an idiot. A-Rod cam here and won 2 MVPs and a ring. More recently we gave up Austin Jackson to get the Grandyman, was that a bad deal too? And the biggest of them all, Roberto Kelly for O'Neill. Montero is gone, move on with your life!!!

Wells for Clemens was almost as bad as the Montero trade.... that one took me a long long time to get over. I never liked Clemens and never bought into his dog and pony show. I HATED that trade.

Arod for Soriano.... I don't care how many MVP's Arod won or his 600 home runs. All I know is we're stuck with him for another 5 plus years.

Cmon!!!!!!! you make those trades every time!!!!!!!!!!!!  was the contract  extension a bit much sure but that had nothing to do with the trade at the time....

Clemens was an A-hole still is.... he was never so great as a Yankee. He never did anything that Boomer couldn't have done he just finally had a goood team to help him get his coveted ring. I also blame Clemens for Andy doing hgh... I'm sure Andy wouldn't have done it without his buddy Raj. The only good thing about Clemens being a Yankee was he couldn't throw at our guys anymore.

The Clemens/Wells trade broke my heart.... as did the Montero trade. I'll accecpt it because it's over and done but I don't have to like it. I feel bad for Montero and I don't believe you trade the next great Yankee....

As for Arod....I was happy he didn't go to Boston so I guess I was happy at the time of the trade but the current contract will go down in history as the worst evah!

Ah yes, another Montero thread.  This one I happen to agree with.  Unfortunately, that's not going to happen anytime in the near future.  Everytime this kid does something good and the Yankees have nothing to show for him in return, there's going to be comments, and justifiably so.  Right now this trade looks like a disaster so I can't blame people for being upset.
