Glad to see him sitting out last night. Friends will tell you I have been a big Tex fan since long before he came to NY - as a matter of fact, I predicted his signing 2 years before it happened. Ok - enough self praise! - He is a notorious slow starter who has not been feeling good. I will always cut him alot of slack because there are not many, if any, better gloves at that position. When he does start to hit, he has been known to carry the team for a few weeks. In the meantime, try to find fault with his D.....

I rest my case for Tex!

He needs to do more to pull his weight for the money he's making. Simple. I point to his declining BA every year since he's signed. Red flag of sorts dont ya think?

No argument from me Joe. Not many people ever live up to the big $$ in our eyes.

I would take the guy we had for the first 6 months of his Yankee life.  No idea what happened to him but I'm guessing he loved the feeling of hitting a HR in Yankee Stadium so much it screwed up his swing/psyche.

Maybe that's one possible reason. When he came up in 2009, he had an amazing season. If it wasn't for the .365 AVG of Mauer, Tex easily had won the MVP. Unfortunately, he dropped since then. We all know Tex has the capacity and the ability to turn around that slump.. And with 2 consecutive days off (I would give him tomorrows day off as well) we might start seeing that new beginning from him.

And I'd love to see him turnaround.. Specially since he is my favorite Yankee. But, we trust in him!

What is infuriating about Tex is his refusal to tap a ground ball through the left side of the infield, which is manned by one guy.  If he does that a dozen times in his next 50 AB's the shift is history.  Without the shift, he's hitting 50 points higher and there is zero discussion about his lack of production.  Ironically, the few times he's gone the other way he still lets hig ego rule and he's trying to elevate the ball to left.  The LF is not in an outrageous shift, so he's simply flying out.   Just roll over the hands for Christ sake!

I don't mind the slow starts.... it's the not hitting with RISP in the post season that makes me crazy.

Tex is too stubborn to go the other way, he will never be a .300 hitter again unless he wises up.  I thought this year would be different and he would of learned from his past mistakes but unfortunately he still pull happy.

+1

Sorry Tito, I'm with Joe on this one ... although I love the defense, it's just not enough to make up for that salary.

When I saw Teix playing for the Rangers way back when, I said "he'll be the Yankee 1b someday".  I was right - Unfortunately, it's not the same guy.
