In fairness to Joe, what can he say?  We made a huge mistake locking up $400 million on two guys who can't hit anymore?  Cashman's obsession with Kuroda is baffling?  He has to be in the locker room with these guys.  Guy, who, BTW, aren't going anywhere.  You can't trade Tex or send down Arod.  With giant holes in a lineup, you can give others less to hit.  It's what made the Yanks so dangerous for so long: no weak spots.  This year's team is nothing but. Not pretty.  I don't like Girardi, but I don't blame him for his post game conferences.  You can't call out a veteran team.  The fact is, this is what you have to work with, and right now it's simply not working.

oh, yes you can.  That's his problem.

Whatever Girardi's telling them ain't working.

And yes, it IS a manager's job to keep the team focused. A computer can make out lineups.

I wouldnt expect Joe G to toss his players under the bus in a post game news conference. I have to belive that behind closed doors, theres wheels spinning. W/ all the injuries however, his options are very limited.

someone needs to be flippin over desks right now for sure.

The way the system goes Kevin Long will be fired any day now.  There will be a shakeup on the roster.

OK.  You convinced me.  I don't care.  Just start winning.  This is ruining my, well, life.

If the weatherman said it be pouring rain today, would your life be ruined if you woke up in the morning to a thunderstorm? It's been clear the past couple years now this team is being duct-taped together. The head office is going cheap, too many high-priced and under-producing players, too many over-the-hill and AAAA level guys... Relax and enjoy the team and season for what it obviously is, that would be my advice.

You've been saying that for the last 3 years...and you've been wrong each time.

Obsession with Kuroda? You are either mis-informed or delusional.

Do you know what makes me baffled? That a person like you, who has been on this Board for a while still does not understand the "one year deal."

Stop playing your guitar hard and loud and try to figure this out because I am not impressed.

Maybe in my disgust over last night's game I overstated my point, bats.  I only meant Cashman really wanted to land him at the deadline last year as well.  I wan't commenting on length of the contract or committment, one year is no big deal, just that for more than a year Cash had his sights set on the guy.  And I can't figure out why.  Of course it's only been a 1/4 of the season.  All I've seen, though, is at best a mediocre pitcher.

(But I can't stop playing my guitar loud.  It's rock 'n' roll, dude!)

Thanks, Big Guy.  I know it's only rock 'n' roll, but, hey, I like it!
