That's 3 of his last 4 starts, and he wasn't that bad against Toronto.

Not a bad trend to be on. I wouldn't say he pitched great tonight but I'll take it.

I think that's 5 good ones in a row.

Too many pitches, he can't seem to put a hitter away early in the count, but at least he got through 6.

3.73 ERA in May including tonight.

I like the fact he's striking out guys, averaging almost a K an inning in his past 5 starts. When your pitcher is getting K's, it's always a good sign. Gimme more high strikeout pitchers in this rotation.

Now he needs to stop thinking he's Home Run Javy.

It is good that a Yankee pitcher stepped up to fill in for the downward spiral CC and Nova are in. I just wish Phil didn't have to labor to get to 6 innings every game. If he could learn to put away a batter faster, he could be great.

Burying your argument with the facts.

He got out of the jam in the 6th.... that's a positive.

I heard he's just about abandoned the cutter and is aggressively attacking the strike zone with fastball, curveball. He's certainly on the right path and making progress.
