Remember when they brought Luca Brasi's vest back with the fish wrapped in it and Sonny or Tom said "that's an old Sicilian custom which means Luca Brasi sleeps with the fishes?"

That's what happened to Rhode Islands 75 million dollar loan. The loan along with Curt's Studios 38 "sleep with the fishes."

I guess Curt should be qualified to run for office now.

not a schilling fan by any stretch but the game the company made was very good IMO. the reason why the company is going belly up is due to the MMO they have been working on for over 5 years. they bit off way more than they could chew

 Something Schilling and his large ego failed to take into account,how expensive and hard it is to get a video game company off the ground. I feel bad for his employees but not for him in the least.

Video game development is a very risky upstart.  I wonder who Schilling knew in the RI legislature to con them out of all those millions.  I don't know what they were working on, but if it was in fact an MMO as bran said, that was a stupid and arrogant first step.  Those are huge undertakings.  They require years of development.  They should have first built a reputation with games for mobile devices... something to bring in some $$$, establish some credibility and get things rolling IMO.

yeah its the same way i feel. not only getting a video company off the ground let a lone an MMO. those things take a lot of cash to get going and working on one for over 5 years with nothing to show for it, was crazy. the only time we got a look at the game was when the loan forfeited and then they showed us a small clip of the MMO


if curt put his ego aside just worked on the single player game that sold over 1 million copies the company would probably still be around and those people would still have jobs

yeah or he could have started with the initial kingdoms of amalur game it sold well for a first time IP but yeah i dont know how curt got that loan of 75 million dollars
