I honestly don't get the love affair with a marginal complimentary player. I would bet the ranch that we will never see Melky in Yankee Pinstripes and imo that would be just fine.

I'm with you on this issue. I don't care what he's batting or batted last year for another club, he acted like an ass when playing for us, esp. in his competitive, dour attitude toward Gardner. He also acted in somewhat a similar negative way in Atlanta, apparently. Why did KC trade him so soon after a good offensive year with them? Why is Sabean already dangling the possibility of trading him from SF? I bet it's not just the money they think it'll take to keep him or the players he envisions in return. There's something too iffy about his character, if you ask me. Nor was he a good influence on Cano the first go-round. So no: try to keep Cano, and avoid MC. I'm not nuts about Swisher either, but if it's between MC and him, I'd pick Swisher, if only for the sake of team esprit. People here may think Cabrera's new-found batting average is wonderful, wonderful, but were he to come back to us, I bet he'd revert to his past standard of .270 or at best .280 BA with a modest slugging record. That's hardly worth the 10 mil. floating around as his FA asking price. No. If we let Swisher go, go after someone else, or, better, promote from within. Make room for a Tyler Austin, say; or convert Pearce into a full-time outfielder. Melky: Nyet.

Melky is a Free Agent this year.   If he continues with his performance this year, which is mind blowing,  along with his past performances, he will demand and get a much higher contract  that Swisher.    Would all depend on whether the Yankees will want to pay  Melky.    I don't think anyone will have to worry about it though as San Fran will more than likely tie Melky up for  many years to come before the end  of the season.    It will all depend on whether Melky wants to spend his career in San Fran for somewhere else.  If Melky's performance continues, he can probably pick just about anywhere he wants to go.

Fancy that...two young men chasing two pretty girls! Who'd believe that could happen in MLB? That is the kind of stuff that kept the Yankees from winning for years...should have broken up Ford and Mantle... the team would have done so much better.

Last year there was a picture posted here of Robbie with 3 hotties. Maybe it was Robbie who was the bad influence.

And it could just be that you had two very young men with lots of time, money and notoriety doing what young guys have done since the Garden of Eden. As far as I know neither guy has ever been arrested for a DUI, an assault or involved in a drug deal. Did I miss something? Whether the team wants to bring back MC, or for that matter invest 200M in RC is a baseball decision.  Both guys a re a little older now and probably handle the lifestyle a little better than when they were kids.

exceeds its X content
