Yes, let's trade our best bat with the most promising future for a stud starter with a promising future.  While we're at it, maybe we should trade another potential big bat for a potential starter with a promising future ... Montero for Pineda sounds great.  Oh wait.

With all due respect fatgiambi, I couldn't imagine trading the guy who clearly the best at his position in the league offensively and defensively without anyone to replace him.  Strasburg may indeed be a stud starter but he's still largely an unknown.

I would do that deal in a heartbeat; it's Washington that would pull away, imo.

Cano, an outstanding player and I love him, is about to team with Boras to extract over 200 mill and 7-8 years from an unknown source, and that will make someone who already doesn't run out ground balls very comfortable.

While I agree with you that Cano is a defensive stud, if you pay attention to the UZR nonsense, and I don't, Cano ranks consistently below average at his position the past few years, lol.

While the idea could make sense to some to trade Robinson Cano, moving him for a pitcher does not make sense for the Yankees.  Considering Strasburg's past surgery and the fact that he left a game injured Sunday it's surprising this thread got any "baseball" responses.    Last Fall when I suggested trading Cano for King Felix most posters thought it ludicrous, why suddenly has Cano's value dropped around here?    aol.sportingnews.com/mlb/story/2012-05-2...

LOL I would trade for Felix even quicker if he approved but he has consistently said no to the Yankees.

Trade Cano and move CC to 2nd. This way we can get CC's bat in the lineup. There's some innovation for ya

Ah, fantasy baseball lives.   The Nats would never do that deal.  Cano's going to be a FA after next year and will get a ton of money.  With the Yankees luck Strasburg would blow his shoulder out and end his career.

very true. it's been a crazy run of awful luck. at the beg of the year i thought we were poised to have a young dynamic 2013 rotation. now nova sux, hughes still sux, pineda blew out his shoulder, the killer b's are less than dazzling to say the least. tough times in yankee land. i probably would trade cano for strassburg if he was healthy. do we really want to pay cano also until he's 38?

This is a fantasy thread, but I'll play along. Strasburg already had arm problems. Cano for Kershaw would be a better idea.
