So we are looking for a Soler eclipse?Tongue Out

Who knows, a guy like that could move thru the ranks really quick. Look at Bryce Harper, and how all the experts were saying he should still be in AAA at the start of the season. He got called up, and now everyone is saying how he's on his way to stardom.

Cano was signed 11 years ago and Hughes is now in his 8th year and Gardner in year 7. The point is, what prospect is ready to take over a position in the next year or so?

Harper was not in the Yankee system. That's the difference.

it takes a very special kind of "kid" to play in New York. Lots of kids have the physical talent, but the mental fortitude is a whole other ball game. Even some veteran major leaguers couldn't cut in the spotlight that is the Yankees. I firmly believe that this is a major variable in why the Yanks don't bring up young guys too often. It's a whole lot easier playing in a town that doesn't have the knowledge, history or expectations that Yankee fans have. Only very special "kids" like Jeter can make the adjustment easily.

Harper might actually have been one of those types of kids to succeed in NY...and he's a life long Yankee fan... But the Yanks don't get many number one draft picks for a reason... So pick your poison... Perennial contender or top draft pick.

Cook up until July the Yanks had no penalty signing international free agents. They should have done a better job there. Now with the new CBA they have their work cut of for them in the draft and international signings. They should be loaded all through the system with prospects if they were doing a good job, not just in A ball.

Joe that might be true but so far he hasn't shown any of that in the bigs. Not everybody is Jeter or comes from his type of family. Maybe he will grow up, still very young.
