Soler Expected To Agree To Deal Before Tomorrow

Outfielder Jorge Soler is expected to agree on a four-year deal before tomorrow, an industry source told George A. King III and Mike Puma of the New York Post.  Meanwhile, the representative for Soler is calling to ask teams if their bids are final, sources tell Buster Olney of ESPN.com (via Twitter).

The Yankees, Cubs, Braves, and Dodgers have been among the most aggressive teams in their pursuit of Soleraccording to Olney The Yankees are said to have bid heavy on Soler while other teams view the Cubs as the favorite, Olney tweets.  King III and Puma note that the Yankees don’t have a Plan B if they lose Nick Swisher in free agency and Soler would certainly cost less than chasing Josh Hamilton.

Plenty of other teams have been linked to Soler, including the Astros, Pirates, Indians, Red Sox, Phillies, and Blue Jays.  The Mets and Marlins, meanwhile, aren't pursuing the outfielder.

The Yankees don't have a plan B to replace Swisher? Isn't that why they pay someone to be GM to have a plan "B"?  They also didn't show much interest in Cespedes who is doing a decent job in Oakland.

LOL...My God you're an idiot.  Plan B is SOLER .   LMAO...."as if" Swisher is irreplaceable. *rolls eyes.*

The search to replace Swisher is obviously NOW.  Don't you get it?

Listen up dimwit. Where do come off calling people an idiot?  I never said there wasn't a Plan B; the reporter said that. Soler isn't Plan B. He wouldn't be ready for 3-4 years. So what do they do about replacing Swisher next year and for 3 years after that?

You would think he would have a plan B. That's one thing with George, nobody ever got comfortable. When he was involved you wouldn't have time to hook up with nut jobs. If your 1st priority wasn't improving the Yanks then you would be out the door.

Huh? LOL...were you born yesterday? Did you just become a Yankee fan?

When George was reckless, he screwed the Yankees. When the front office finally took control of him and convinced him that his only job description was to cut checks.

However, anyway....it's this attitude of being impatient is what kills the Yankees. It's this attitude that brings in the Danny Tartabulls, Steve Trouts, and Carl Pavanos with loaded contract to the Yankees....all in the name of "improving the team."

Wasn't born yesterday and was around before George. I know what he did in the 70's to put a winning team together and respected that. I also know what he did in the 80's and early 90's and was not a fan. If your being fair which seems to be a problem with you he also brought in Reggie, Catfish and Gossage. Forgot about them or maybe you were born yesterday. Cashman brought in Pavano, thanks for reminding us.

In my post I was implying that Cashman would not still be around if George was still in control. If Cashman has the time as a married man to screw around on his wife with who knows how many nut jobs then he must not be working hard enough as GM of the Yanks. I don't know about you but after reading about this I lost respect for him.  Not the guy I thought he was.

One example of a player who should be in a Yanlee uniform IMO. Is there a good reason why a pitcher like Chapman who is signed to a very reasonable contract with the Reds not on the Yanks with the skills he has and the resourses they have ? He makes 2 million this year 2013. 3mill in 2014 and a 5 mill player option in 2015. Feliciano is getting what? Marte got what? Garcia is making more then him this year.

As reported.....

Jorge Soler is going somewhere, but not to L.A. Dodgers are no longer engaged. Cubs, Yanks, Jays (per ), mystery team?

Dodgers Not In Mix For Jorge Soler

Cuban outfield prospect Jorge Soler could sign any day now. A number of teams have been linked to Soler, who must sign by July 2 if he aims to maximize his earning potential and avoid the spending restrictions that will soon take effect. Here’s the latest on Soler:

  • The Dodgers are no longer engaged on Soler, Yahoo’s Tim Brown reports (on Twitter). ESPN.com's Buster Olney reported late last week that the Dodgers were among his most aggressive suitors.
  • The Blue Jays are said to be in the mix for Soler, Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reports (on Twitter). Heyman notes that the Cubs and Yankees also appear to be involved.
Always proud to be a Yankee fan.
