i would agree that Rothschild has done a good job ...and more than anything i believe Andy's return really gave the staff a psycological boost, now all of a sudden it starts to click ...great job by Nova now 2 starts running...baseball truly a game of inches and adjustments.

"it's when the Yankees score eight runs in the first inning .....and then slowly pull away"
Yankees owner Jacob Ruppert , on a perfect afternoon at Yankee Stadium.

There are threads designed to start a meaningful discussion...  Then there are threads designed to elicit a certain response.

I feel this deserves a thread because whether it be the hitting or pitching the first ones to blame for either one not doing well is the coach.  Rothschild has done a fantastic job with what would normally be a mediocre pitching staff and molding them into a deep reliable not only starting rotation but bullpen as well.  And this is without Mo and Robertston (good portion of the season)

For a pitching staff that looked doomed to give up a ton of runs besides CC we have a pitching staff that has given up the second fewest runs.

So again lets all bow down to the great Rothschild and hopefully the excellent pitching continues to click. Laughing

Hey why not give the guy some credit, things seem to be coming together for the Yankees so let's give all the coaches an applause.

I think that it's more Andy Pettite coming aboard than Rothchild being the pitching coach. Maybe Hughes got an awakening when he saw Garcia lose his position and Nova did not want to be sent down again like last year. If Rothchild had any effect, the starters would have started off good instead of just when Andy came back.

Yep, let's give the kudos to Rothschild ... instead of the pitchers and the fact that he just happens to be coaching the Yankees!

He then worked as a coach with the Reds from 1986 to 1993, winning a World Series ring in 1990 as the team's bullpen coach.

Rothschild worked with the Atlanta Braves as a pitching instructor in 1995 before joining the Florida Marlins in 1995 and staying until 1997, where he won another World Series ring in 1997.

He managed the Tampa Bay Devil Rays beginning in their inaugural season of 1998 until early in the 2001 season, when he was fired as a result of three consecutive losing seasons and a 4-10 start to 2001.[1] During his time in Tampa Bay, Rothschild compiled a record of 205 wins and 294 losses.

He spent the remainder of 2001 as a consultant with the Florida Marlins, and was hired as the Chicago Cubs pitching coach in 2002. In 2010 he accepted an offer for three years from the New York Yankees after Dave Eiland was fired

Now you know you are the one that's thick headed, not me if you really are going to use the awful Rays pitching as en excuse... Have a nice night going to work.

As usual, nasty ... and can't accept the fact that others have differing opinions.

talk about the pot calling the kettle black mo.

Exactly the only reason I get annoyed is because I was having a discussion with someone else in another thread and all of a sudden Mo comes in and calls me thick headed and saying I do nothing but argue on and on.  It's funny whenever we question someone in the clique we are immediately gained on and attacked.  So damn frustrating which is why I rarely post because whenever I try to start a discussion I am insulted.
