He's in his glory when the Yankees are losing.  That's the only time he comes around, and then he starts half a dozen threads.

I wonder how many message boards he poses as a fan of that particular team.

He usually is when they're winning.

I don't see any deals being made just yet.  Later though I wouldn't rule out something getting done.  I know they've shown some interest in Dempster who's on the DL but there appear to be mixed feelings in the FO whether he could translate to the AL East.  He is on the DL currently, but I ready yesterday that the Cubs would be willing to eat part of his pay if the right deal came along.  With CC coming back in a couple weeks, I think Garcia and Phelps would have to crash and burn though before they'd pull the trigger.  At some point they'll make some kind of deal for an outfielder though to replace Swisher, but that could wait until after the season unless they feel Gardner won't be back, and I haven't seen anything that says he won't return.

Talking about trades, Orioles are really making a run for post season baseball.....

Orioles Acquire Jim Thome

Phillies GM Ruben Amaro Jr. recently disclosed that he's open to moving Thome if there is a deal that makes sense for both the slugger and the team. After his recent strong showing at designated hitter during interleague play, he is on board with joining an American League club in need of a bat. Philadelphia has been reportedly shopping Thome to teams in need of a DHand the O's fit the bill.

Thome, 41, is hitting .242/.338/.516 with five homers in 71 plate appearances this season. Most of that damage has come as the DH during interleague play, including a 6-for-13 showing during a three-game series in Camden Yards earlier this month. Baltimore's designated hitters have hit a solid .258/.349/.439 this season, though they've rotated between Nick JohnsonMark ReynoldsChris Davis, and others. Johnson was recently placed on the DL with a wrist problem.

Always proud to be a Yankee fan.

I saw that,, and Olney was pushing the idea that the Yankees may be interested in Thome.  I couldn't see it because why would they pay for Thome when they've got his clone in Russell Branyan down at SWB mashing the ball with 10 homers this month?   And Branyan at least still plays 1st base.  Buster was reaching on that one.

Iron Man Nick Johnson is on the DL? I can't believe it. With only 2631 games left to tie Ripken, Johnson has to sit. That must be devasting after so many minutes of  hard work and sacrifice.

...and here are talking heads projections in regards to Yankees' interest  for a pitcher.....

Yankees GM Brian Cashman wants to find starters in place of CC Sabathia and Andy Pettitte from within, but if that’s not possible, he’ll look outside.  One National League GM said that while the AstrosWandy Rodriguez would be a good fit, he doesn’t believe he is of particular interest to them.  Cashman is more likely to gravitate toward Matt GarzaRyan Dempster, and even Zack Greinke.

Always proud to be a Yankee fan.
