From a KC writer:

sports.yahoo.com/news/booing-robinson-ca...

And that's what rubbed players like sandpaper. No, this didn't show the All-Stars, the best of the best, that Kansas City was a great baseball town. It showed them an ugly side of a place that struggles to draw free agents because of a combination of miserliness and the perception that it's simply not somewhere the best players should want to play.

A number of players said, rather damningly, this isn't the sort of thing that would change their minds.

I'm sure Latino players are just itching to play in KC now. Melky Cabrera is probably giggling his relief at getting out.

As if it wasn't already tough for the Royals to assemble a winning ballclub. Here's to another thirty years of success failure for the **** of the Midwest and its inbred fans!

Pretty tough on the midwest because a few booing fans from KC aren't you AJ ??  I'm pretty sure there are all kinds of people, but also from all parts of this great country, don't pin all the bad on the midwest ...

The Royals are slowly building a very good team. When the breakthrough happens, they'll be able to get stars to sign as free agents...if they can afford them. For 90%+  off ballplayers, the bottom line is money.

I find it funny that a small town like Kansas City and a stadium that is rarely packed got so much fans during the All Star break. Where did they come from?

Where did they come from?  Probably fans of the other teams.
