Arod is a huge problem. I have given him the benefit of the doubt far more often than not. Are there actually any people here who are happy to see him come up to bat in a big situation? I don't mean that to be insulting to anyone. I just really want to know. Am I missing something? I've never seen a guy down 0-2 in the count as much as him. He has become a total guess hitter and in the times he guesses right, it's usually a foul ball or a soft fly or a wussy grounder to the left side. He'll get some big hits in the next few weeks and people will say where are the haters now? It's not about that. He should get those hits far more often than he does. That doesn't change that he is our biggest rally killer in the lineup and he bats 3 or 4. I know Girardi has the big division lead and can afford to see if there is any magic left. But these losses will matter at the end when we are fighting for the best overall record in the A.L. I really hope he drops him to 5 or 6 permanently and be done with it.
for me i think we need a guy on the bench with speed since we lost gardner..:( and who would u chose to be on the bench
With the new wildcard rules and the new CBA agreement there are less 'seller', more 'buyer' and therefore less players available this trading deadline. The Yankees have a large enough lead that they aren't desperate to make a move. I say let the other teams panic and overpay. Not only that, but who available would be an upgrade over Wise?
I would be interested in seeing some of the AA and AAA players given a chance. Like Abraham Almonte, Russell Branyon, Fukudome, Kevin Russo, Jack Cust. Getting Andy and Joba back would be the best acquisitions the Yankees could make.
