Rather than take our words for it, ask the following people how they feel about George: Reggie, Goose, Randolph, Diana Munson, Guidry, Mattingly, Pettitte, Tino, Jeter, Torre, Billy Martin's kids & widow, Catfish's widow, Murcer's widow, O'Neill, Bernie, Strawberry, Gooden, Girardi, Winfield (yea even him), Yogi (even him), the list goes on. Maybe Zimmer and a few others will agree he was evil incarnate but the list above - those who were most affected by him in the public eye - trump Zimmer & Co.

But there are books out there detailing the idiocy that was King George, from The Bronx Zoo to Balls (Nettles). And one of Martin's quotes was pretty good "The two men deserve each other. One's a born liar, the other's convicted." But this isn't about making it personal, this is speaking from the "baseball" man King George wasn't. Great piece of satire.In the past those players with a high BABIP ratuio were called stars and batting champions. Sabremetrics is slowly killing this game.
