it was a nice Houdini act today... the guy has the makeup of a closer, nothing phases him - the only negative is that he makes that clown Levine look like a genius! I would have bet my house that he would not opt out after this year when the season began, he'll pretty much cash in on his success which is exactly what he should do....
Damn, that 9th reminded me of a MO like Houdini act.
The double was a dying quale in Lf that barely was fair(i think Yanks had enough of that LF foul line..lol), and then he gets out of it with a couple infield flyouts/pop-ups.
Really nothing was hit hard but the Infante single to rf.
btw: If i'm Cashman, i'd sit MO down, ask him if next yr. is for sure his last. If so, i'm offering Soriano a multi yr deal(2yr option for 3rd), and tell Soriano he will be the closer in 2014 and onwards.
I simply don't trust Robertson as the closer, as he walks way too many. And i'm not sure he has the closer mentality as well.
Oh..and yes for sure, Soriano has been HUGE this yr., actually better then MO(hard to admit for me, as i'm the biggest MO fan), as he's on a pace to blow only 3 saves all yr.
And i know he makes it more interesting then MO, but he does wiggle out of alot of situations.
