Bryan Hoch tweet:

Ivan Nova felt his pitching shoulder grab in the 6th inning last night. Sent to NY for tests.

Nova going for tests on tight shoulder

Ivan Nova felt tightness in his right shoulder during the sixth inning last night. He will fly to New York for tests and could land on the disabled list. At the very least it sounds like he will miss one start. Joe Girardi said he believes the problem was limited to last nights sixth inning and had not bothered Nova previously. His velocity was normal last night.

A note regarding pitching prospects:

Went to the Trenton game today and saw Delin Betances get pummelled by Altoona. Had a couple decent innings, but then the Curve just unleashed on him. He was throwing too much over the plate against one batter and then wild to the next. It was frustrating to watch.

Guess that means Phelps stays in the rotation. Heck he might just pitch himself into the playoff rotation

In the immortal words of Jim Mora: Playoffs, your talking about playoffs?

That's been his story all year.  He drives me nuts.

I wouldn't be surprised if they shut Nova down for the rest of the year.

Every time a Yankee pitcher starts struggling, we get these mysterious arm injuries that suddenly appear out of nowhere.
