That's possible, but it looks like they like his bat and baserunning possiblities even more than the chance he'll screw up in the field.

I like them too but in spring training.  There's something wrong with A-Rod...his wrist isn't healed.  Previously Joe said, it wasn't fair to have Gardy hit since he only had 3 abs since April.  Gardy now has 4 ab's since April...I guess he's good to go.  Either that or Joe has lost his mind.

If A-Rod's healthy, I still take my chances with him.  Playing Nunez in a pre-elimination game is really rolling the dice afaic.

oh how the mighty have fallen.

As a long time Yankee fan I hope you and the rest against Nunez are completely  wrong and should root him on so the Yankees will win.

But that will cancel out the error that Swisher won't be able to make tonite.

I'm not so sure that wrist is completely healthy.  Arod has had some good numbers against Verlander in the past, but let's face it, lately he hasn't hit fastballs or righties and he's obviously slumping.  I think Joe looked more at what he's done lately than his past record against Verlander.  I don't have a problem with Gardner at all.   I figure he can't hit worse than Swisher has and plays the outfield and runs a hell of a lot better.  I'd have him bunt all night down 3rd base against Cabrera, who will never win a gold glove award.

I think it's disconcerting people have more faith in Gardner who's only had 4 ABs since April, yet they're quick to dismiss another guy. How's that fair?

I think Nunez will get a couple hits tonight and be a catalyst for a big inning.

If Swisher was doing his job they wouldn't have even considered this move.

Yes that's the perfect word to explain how I feel every time a ball is hit to Nunez...very disconcerting.
