I've noticed a lot of ideas bouncing around on this forum with very little organization because many people post per day which means that free agent ideas and trade proposals get lost in the shuffle.

Let's use this thread as a front page mainstay all Offseason long to speculate and postulate on Yankees moves before and when they do occur.

Below is a blueprint of the Yankees Lineup Heading into Free Agency

C -
1B - Mark Teixeira
2B - Robinson Cano
3B - Alex Rodriguez
SS - Derek Jeter
LF - Brett Gardner
CF - Curtis Granderson
RF -
DH -

Below is a blueprint of the Yankees Rotation Heading into Free Agency

SP1 - CC Sabathia
SP2 -
SP3 - Phil Hughes
SP4 -
SP5 - Ivan Nova

Below is a blueprint of the Yankees Bullpen Heading into Free Agency

CP -
SU - David Robertson
MR -
MR - Joba Chamberlain
MR -
LS - Boone Logan / Clay Rapada
LR - David Phelps

Below is a blueprint of the Yankees Bench Heading into Free Agency

INF - Eduardo Nunez
C -
OF -
3B/1B -

The Yankees are working to get under the hard cap 189 M Luxuary Tax in 2014 but still have flexibilty to make moves via free agency and trade to improve this team.

Key Free Agents who are almost definitely off the books include - Rafael Soriano and Nick Swisher

So the Yankees will have money to invest in the bullpen and outfield as well as the rotation and behind the plate. (Below are the top 30 Free Agents in this years class)

1. Josh Hamilton, OF
2. Zack Grienke, RHP
3. Michael Bourn, OF
4. Dan Haren, RHP
5. Nick Swisher, OF
6. Mike Napoli, C
7. David Ortiz, DH
8. Rafael Soriano, RHP
9. BJ Upton, OF
10. Kevin Youkilis, 3B
11. Hiroki Kuroda, RHP
12. Shane Victorino, OF
13. Kyle Lohse, RHP
14. Torii Hunter, OF
15. Anibal Sanchez, RHP
16. Angel Pagan, OF
17. Shaun Marcum, RHP
18. AJ Pierzynski, C
19. Jake Peavy, RHP
20. Brandon McCarthy, RHP
21. Marco Scutaro, SS
22. Edwin Jackson, RHP
23. Melky Cabrera, OF
24. Jonathan Broxton, RHP
25. Ichiro Suzuki, OF
26. Ryan Dempster, RHP
27. Russell Martin, C
28. Stephen Drew, SS
29. Joakim Soria, RHP
30. Ryan Ludwick, OF

Despite some injuries, we still have intriguing pieces on the farm if we need to get a trade completed.

The 2012 - 2013 Offseason will be key toward getting younger, faster, and better. Use this thread to get ideas circulating. Sometimes these internet rumors catch fire and can actually alert the Yankees of a player who fits their needs through media who relay those ideas. Enjoy and have fun posting :)

Before I was against getting Hamilton. Now I say open the vault for him.  To heck with his past, he's the best player in the game.

Aardsma is pretty much a lock to get a chance at the BP next year.

He will be 32 in May. Throw in his drug abused body and no thanks. I'd only want him if we somehow got him on a 3 year deal.

Break the bank open for Josh Hamilton and trade for Justin Upton. Rock this sh--t like its 2009.

We need to make a big splash to win it all one last time before Jeter and Rivera are done here.

SS Derek Jeter

3B Alex Rodriguez

LF Josh Hamilton

2B Robinson Cano

RF Justin Upton

1B Mark Teixeira

CF Curtis Granderson

DH Raul Ibanez

C Russell Martin

I don't want anything to do with Hamilton. He's going to be 33 next year, going to command a huge salary, has injury concerns, and has his off the field issues, which New York is NOT the place for.

Josh Hamilton is not enterning his age 33 season.

He is still 31 entering his age 32 season. (May 2013)

That small difference matters when discussing contracts.

The pool of outfielders via free agency is deep this year. Hamilton is not the only player who can help this ball club.

Personally, I want to see Ichiro return to this team no matter what.

Gardner, Granderson, and Ichiro would form the best defensive outfield we have had in a long time.

Something like that is very valuable to this ball club and Ichiro loved playing here and the fans loved him as well.

Names like Michael Bourn, Melky Cabrera, and Shane Victorino ...as well as Torii Hunter should also be paid close attention too.

Grady Sizemore can also be taken on the cheap with a flier.
