Even if Francesa IS responsible for the switch (and I don't believe he is) he should never be told that.

His head's already bigger than the 5 boroughs.

How did this turn into a political thread?  This thread was to let posters effected by this storm to know, you are important to us ...we care.  Fans have been calling in all day on the Francesa show reiterating those sentiments....the immediacy should be focused on helping those effected by this horrific occurrence.

Politicians from both sides of the aisle like you and me has made mistakes on occasions. In the end I'm hopeful energy is focused on the necessary recovery in the days ahead.

Always proud to be a Yankee fan.

Francesa and other talking heads provided a vehicle for many to voice their opinions.  It's those opinions in large numbers that is responsible for the "switch".  It only goes to show our voices do make a difference.

the generators were provided by the racing association (or whatever it's called) and not the city so they're under no obligation to be used for anything else. That being said it would be a sign of good will to let the city use them.

well couldn't the little hitler who runs NYC just confiscate them?  he tells those folks how much soda they can drink so taking a couple of generators for the common good is nothing to him.....

ok, to the title of this thread, which does not belong?  (salads, marathon running, 12% body fat, Mike Francesa)

Mike Francesa talking about marathons is like Jessica Simpson talking quantum mechanics....

It's a difficult time for everyone; and politics has both nothing and everything to do with it.

Everybody needs to pitch in and stop blaming each other's opinions.

Moderator, leave it right here, where it belongs.

sorry old man, not gonna clam myself. This thread has nothing to do with the yankees and since people decided to bring politics into it it should be moved to the political forum.

Jimmy you are so right... This white trash brainiac is bad for my blood pressure.  This is not a Yankee thread and Mike was one of many to ask the marathon be canceled.    Mayor Bloomberg has much on his desk, I wouldn't be so harsh, once he realized that citizens would boo the runners or worse he had to postpone.... Jeeze after what NY did to Swisher, imagine these people trying to run the streets... No harm done, silly to criticize when the right decision was made.  Drink up Glenn.....http://images-mediawiki-sites.thefullwiki.org/01/3/0/0/584252597878668.jpg

Lets not get too quick to praise Bllomberg for this cancellation. Ive run 16 marathons, 8 of them NYC. While I'm not a pro runner, running is my business. There's no better race in the world. That said, as much as Bloomberg was a "Hitler" until very late Friday afternoon, lets not forget his cohort Mary "Eva Braun" Wittenberg of the NYRRC. Both of them extolled needing the race to "come together to support NY" and to "grease the NYC economy" to help the victims. Thats a load of BS. Wittenberg even went as far as saying the race was cancelled b/c she was concerned that the city was turning agaisnt the runners. More BS, ty Mary. They cancelled this race at the late hour b/c by that time, the out of towners who werent already in NYC, were on their way. In a nutshell, the city will get the same economic boost from the "marathon" as if it were held. TAlk about "turning against runners."  Wittenberg SHOULD have called it herself, when she sent out a call for volunteer medical docotrs, b/c the ones who originally volunteered said theyd not go b/c they were helping victims. Lack of adequate medical personnel for the RUNNERS is reason enough to cancel it alone. The fact that they entertained holding after Sandy, this close to its slamming us, is bad enough. How they handled it is a travesty. I wasnt running this Sunday but my bro was, (His 12th NYC, his 39th overall) he's THRILLED with the decision as am I. As long as Wittnbergs CEO of the NYRRC I'm boycotting running NYC. I'll run Marine Corps in DC or Philly in November instead.
