Time for a new system

First off, to those who were hoping the President would win, congratulations. And to those who were hoping Romney would win, my condolences.

This election more than any other I can think of showed all that is wrong with the 2 party system.  The vitriol and the refusal of one side to accept any positives from the other is disgusting. How can we expect government to work when neither side wants to bend to the other? When neither side wants the other to get credit for anything?  This board was a microcosm of the hate so many in America have for those of the other party.

I pray that somehow things get better, but I don’t have much hope that it will unless the parties are done away with.  We are all Americans, not democrats and republicans.  May God Bless America!  We desperately need it.

Someone here said that the election was in God's hands. I guess God wanted Obama to win. If Romney had won, those same people now who are claiming that the election was stolen, would be rejoicing that God had delivered us from the abyss.

I believe that God may have wanted Obama to win.  But that may have nothing to with Obama's platform or ideology.  God doesn't always do things or allow things to happen the way we think makes sense.  I am not bemoaning the results, nor am I celebrating.  I believe this election was a lose/lose proposition with the 2 main candidates.  Did the lesser of 2 evils win, I don’t know.  I just pray the next 4 years are better than the last 4.

It's a terrible proposition as you corrected stated...many voted for the lesser of 2 evils.

Always proud to be a Yankee fan.

I don't know about anyone else, but I voted for the best of the two men.. Romney never was the better or the lessor, he just didn't belong..

Some think that a President can do things by the snap of his fingers.. Like where the hell did he get any help ?? The Tea Party of No from day one said they were out to get that Black SOB and they would do anything to do it.. Now get an idea on why so little was accomplished in the first four years of this mans Presidency.. Lets hope they can change their tune a little and both parties can work together for the betterment of this great Country ??

I agree YOF but in fairness and in retrospect, he used too much political capital on Obamacare and that's coming from me, a guy who is in favor of a single payer system.

I know there's tweaks that can be done to Obamacare, but I still believe it needs to get a chance to work.. Obama says in the long run it will save money, what I can't understand if it hasn't some good ideas, why are the insurance companies and the right wing rich fighting it so much ??

I don't believe God cares anymore about the USA than any other country. I believe He is quite concerned and involved in every country. However, I believe He allows us to make choices that impact our lives. Ultimately, His will is done one way or another and we may not understand how or why.  That's just my opinion based on scripture and I realized that other people's opinions differ.
