I would rather see Dickerson then Shierholtz if it came down to it. The guy has Gardners power and Posadas speed.

Not so fast Nate is going to the Cubs.  He turn down a better offer from the Yankees .....Just wow...I have to think players who can't handle the heat AL East brings goes else where.

If you can believe this (I do), schierholtz turned down a 2-yr deal in $5M range.

Nate Schierholtz has agreed on 1 year deal with Cubs, source says

Always proud to be a Yankee fan.

Hats off to Nate...He didn't chase for the biggest $$$$ He's a guy who know his capacity.....and it's not with the AL East.

Always proud to be a Yankee fan.

I wouldn't necessarily say that he knew his capacity, he had to look at the Yankees and consider his potential role.  The Yankees certainly weren't interested in making a no speed, no power guy their every day RF.  He also had very little value as a left-handed pinch hitter despite his decent average, mainly because there's nobody for him to hit for with lefties at CF, LF, and 2B and a switch hitter at 1B.  If Shierholtz wants to make more money in his next contract and he believes in his ability, a 1 year deal in a place where he's probably going to be able to get 400 AB's makes perfect sense.
