"What we have here is a case of the Republicans here in the Senate once again not taking yes for an answer," Reid said. "This morning the Republican leader asked consent to have a vote on his proposal. Just now I told everyone we're willing to have that vote, an up-or-down vote, and now the Republican leader objects to his own idea, so I guess we have a filibuser of his own bill."

If it was day time and a Democrat said it was day time the republicans would say it's night time... They don't want to make anything happen especially if it would help anyone but the top rich 2%.. The good is they will live and die with this mentality, come 2014 they will take another hit...

And that's why the President won by 5 million votes

Five million angry white voters who would rather complain than get their butts to the polls. They didn't vote so now they want to secede. Makes a lot of sense. But, then the Republican party is so out of touch it doesn't surprise me.

Obama received 6 million fewer votes in 2012 than in 2008 while McCain and Romney were nearly equal. Since the percentage of Blacks and Hispanics voting for Obama was higher in 2012 the conclusion can only be that most of those 6 million voters were White. Young voters also increased which means fewer older voters went to the polls. Conclusion: The over 50 White voters didn't show up. That was Romney's strongest demographic.
