I just hope Youkillis has something left. I think he does, but I don't really know.

I do know he was screwed by a below average BABIP the last year, especially in road games. Will he bounce back a bit? I think so. How much? No idea.

I'm hoping he will have a bounce-back year ... but $12 million for hoping?

It's understandable that they overpaid. The alternatives aren't very appealing and the Yankees had to pay Youk above market value to lure him away from his home state and playing for Tito again.  If they didn't, he'd probably be an Indian today.

Same reason why they paid so much for CC when they signed him.

Yep, that 2012 average of 236 was just irresistible.

Like I said, the alternatives weren't very appealing.

I'm not going to hate on Youk because he was a Red Sox. I think that's kind of ridiculous, since we all loved Clemens, Damon and Boggs.

Speak for yourself.....We All didn't love Clemens, Boggs, and Damon. I never had a problem with Damon but I despised Clemens, Boggs and Pedro. There are some players I will never like..... Youkiliss is at the top of my list. You can also add Beckett, Veritek and The runt Pedroia to that list.

Lola what are you going to do when the Yankees sign Big Papi in a couple of years?Tongue Out

Youk is ugly, kind of a whiner, but beyond that he never bothered me as much as Boggs or Clemens. Both Boggs and Clemens were part of robbing Donnie of a batting title and MVP. I managed to warm to Boggs, Clemens not so much, especially since we had to give up Boomer to get him.

The Clemens/Wells trade broke my heart.... I cried for a week over that one! This move just flat out pisses me off.... I can't stand to look at this guy ****ing guy and that ridiculous batting stance.

Lola, as I said previously you are making BB into a soap opera.

I'm not thrilled with the Youk deal because I think it's a lot of money for a player that may be finished ... but if he shows up and gets some big hits, I'll be smiling.

Ugh. I wasn't happy with the news, but if the Yankees think this is a good move, then I will accept that and continue to be a 100% Yankees fan. Watching the waggle will probably choke me, but I will look the other way for those brief moments. If he hits the ball and either homers or gets on base, or advances runners, or comes up in the clutch, I will forgive the waggle. If Jeter welcomes him warmly, that will the real signal that this is a good move. The third base/short stop scenario is a really important one. Jeter seems to have befriended him in All Star Games scenarios. So, there must be some intrinsic value there.

As for the Sterling calls, what will it be? A Palook-a from Youk-a? Somethine fun and weird. After all, Sterling is probably hippy era material! He will make it worthwhile!

But I am bursting at the seams happy, elated, egg-static about the Ichiro signing. So, so happy!

I want to thank the Good Lord for making me a Yankees fan.

Will the John Sterling call include the Three Stoogies signature, "Yuk, yuk, yuk?" Or, was that Nyuk, Nyuk, Nyuk?" I'm not that up on the Stoogies.
