That's a good question.... what's show cattle? Is it the cattle that make it to the show!

4H kids show them and parents with tons of money buy them from people that produce club calves, some of these calves easily bring $40. - $75 thousand if they are good enough.. They clip the hair and make them look pretty and they show against other calves.. Some times they win pretty good prices, even as high as over $100K..

My daughter shows dogs, they aren't THAT valuable... Damn... Who do you buy your feed from?

Several companies make a very good show feed, the biggest problem it's getting really high priced.. Actually it cost aver $700. per ton, that might not seem high to people that don't understand, but we used to buy it for around $250. a ton.. It's caramelized sweet, steam flaked corn, oats, some barley, and protein with beat pulp added for a filler.. They also put a product they call fortifier in it, it has all the minerals and vitamins. Great product, it make the hair coat luscious, the show cattle business is all about hair.. Then they clip them like you would a puddle dog, not to look like one, but to block the animals out. In the summer months the big boys, as I call them, keep their animals in a air conditioned cooler to make sure the hair keeps growing.. I could go on for ever, but I'm sure not many are all that interested ??
