I can vaguely remember listening to the games on the radio with my mother.... she was a Mantle fan.

I also remember my mother telling me that Yogi Berra was not the same person as Yogi the bear. I remember being amazed to find out Babe Ruth was a person not a candy bar....

I use to think the monuments in the outfield were headstones.

I don't remember too much about the 80's.... I must have been doing other things. Sealed

My buddy asked me when we were BSing basbeball, how far back did my first mems of Yankees in the WS go. Mine were 1960 vs Pirates, and 1964 vs Cards, especially Micks walk off. What was your earliest memory of the Yankees, WS or not? I realize that some here are young enough that they were kids during the drought.

Mine was my dad taking me to the 3rd game of the 58 World Series on a beautiful Saturday October day at OYS. Yankees won 4-0 and I remember walking on the field after the game to the center field gate to take the subway and looking back at the stadium. Hooked for life!

Heres the box score and play by play of the game Luv....enjoy. Wink Wow...71,000 attendance! Surprised

Thanks Craner, pretty awesome. I remember my dad telling me before the game they had to win this game, they were down 2-0 I believe.

The Three Stooges?

Heat, I think you have nailed it.  I also remember Chiller Theater being on around that same time, but I think it may have been on WOR - 9.

around '70-'72 it was 'Hee-Haw'!
