Id take him in a SECOND over Andruw or what we have now, which is NADA!

Exactly what was my thinking in regards to Dickerson.  He has the speed and defense to play outfield and small-ball.  I would prefer Granderson, Ichiro, and Gardner but that's why having a good 4th/5th outfielder helps as pinch hitting or in case of injury.  Canzler certainly wasn't as good as Dickerson to be released.

There is a reason a guy like Dickerson has never cut it in the majors. You play him maybe once or twice a week and you may be able to get by. Yeah his defense is good and he may get a hit here and there. However you play him full time and reality sets in. He is a career journeyman.

Yep this forum loves AAAA players like Dickerson, Maxwell and Wise.

All players were at one time AAA players.  I think Dickerson never got a good chance to play and he showed his greatness in some of the games he did play so no reason to think he was useless.  Even if he's a temporary use, it's still better than some of the other players in the miners.

He is about to turn 31 and has been on 3 teams. He has had plenty of chances.....

But nothing solid like playing consecutively for a month or more.  I think he deserved a few more seconds of playing time (instead of A. Jones) last year and this year they got rid of him for a Can-of-Zeroes.
