I don't . Selig wanted parity in  baseball, he got it. But ,at the expense of the ratings, which the idiot forgot generates money.

Who is  going to care about this WS, except Giant and Royals fans? People now have the NFL, and the NBA and NHL are starting , so there  goes your ratings.

Selig was clueless. People in  general don't care about the WS, unless  the Yankees, Phillies, Red Sox or Dodgers are in it . Why? Simply , because there are transplated New Yorkers, Bostians , And Phillie fans in all 50 states  and Dodgers fans  are all over the country.

Good thing , I  can now watch Eli and the Giants.  Go Eli

I knew this day would come, only I suspected it would be a match between Tampa and Miami. The Giants have a fairly large following so that will bring the ratings up a bit. Imagine if the Pirates had won.

I had considered doing a thread on if Selig and his merry men have went to far in their efforts to obtain parity. My gut feeling tells me yes.  I won't be viewing the world series and watched little of the post season so far besides the 4th game of the KC/Baltimore series.

Instead I'll be digging out my 1977 WS DVDs.

Football never replaces baseball for the true baseball fan.  You guys are just heretics to baseball.

I'll be rooting for the Giants, but won't cry if Kansas City wins.

Big market teams do generate viewership, but not for the reasons you stated. They tune in to watch opposition teams slay the dragon. Root for Yankees, Dodgers, etc?? I don't think so...

If Giants win, it's 3 championships in 5 years. Perhaps dynasty in the making.

Perhaps football won't replace baseball for baseball fans. There's no denying football draws much more viewers than baseball. As reported a regular NFL game draws a much greater market than a post season baseball game.

I think this has the makings of a great World Series.  I'll definitely be watching.

It has nothing to do with being a heretic. I don't watch any sports unless I have an emotional attachment to one of the teams or players. (I haven't watched tennis since Borg and McEnroe retired) Even during the season I rarely watch any games that do not include the Yankees. I love baseball, but if it doesn't get my adrenaline flowing I'm not wasting 3 hours watching it.

I will be watching.  Do you guys watch the Super Bowl if the Giants are not in it?
