Kaprielian shines in longest pro outing

Kaprielian's good. I wonder if they skip him over Charleston to start next year with the hopes of getting him up to Trenton midseason.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if he skipped over Charleston. He is a 3 year college guy and he's pitching great. Even if they do start him at Charleston he won't be there very long. Of course his pitching will tell how fast he moves up the levels. He's the guy I thought they were going to pick and I was very happy when they took him.

I read he's been around 94-95 mph with the fastball too which is up a tiny bit from where he sat in college. Him and Acevedo look like they're the next big pitching prospects. I could see Acevedo making a Mateo-like rise into the top 10 on most Yankee prospect lists going into Spring. He's been even better than Kaprielian.

I've seen 3 of his games, including his 2nd start in person with GCL Yanks. He's looked very good his last few starts. Mid-90's with good control and showing a pretty good breaking pitch. I can see him as a pretty fast mover. I liked the pick a lot. I agree on Acevdo. He has to go way up in the rankings after what he's shown this year. Big kid, 6-7 about 200 lbs. Throws it thru a building. If his secondary pitches keep improving he could stay a starter. Worse case is he ends up a late inning guy.
