Raise your hand if you'd rather watch Bryan Mitchell go 13-8 with a 4.23 era for the Yanks (my own estimate) than watch the CC-SHTSHOW this year?

I would be happy to give Sabathia's spot to Mitchell, send Justin Wilson to Scranton, and give CC his role out of the pen.  Contracts and egos will dictate that can't happen.  I thought Mitchell was more polished and had more upside than Greene.

I doubt we can get to the playoffs and/or beyond w/out at least one dependable LH starting pitcher (preferably two, but I'll settle for the one right now) in our rotation. Five RH starters (unless they're all like Harvey) just isn't going to cut it, imo. Making CC into a reliever wouldn't do much for the team's overall success either, but he appears to have become detrimental to that success as a starter, too.

I hope your right LL and it was a small sample but I didn't see that.

Boy, I'm really pulling for Refsynder but it seems as if his fielding is getting worse. I hope it's not in his head.

It probably is. BigGuy said they have a new coach who is changing his defensive style at Scranton. Typical Yanks. Don't do it in the off season or ST but once the season starts.

I could be wrong but the guy who tried to change Refsnyders approach defensively was the Yankees new 3rd base coach. So I don't think they have someone down at SWB constantly in his ear about it. He just needs to work hard, relax and let his athleticism take over.

Die I thought BigGuy wrote that but could be wrong. Hopefully he gets it worked out.

I really think a lefty starter is completely irrelevant.  They can all be lefties or none of them could be lefties and it doesn't matter.  It only matters that they are producing quality starts.  CC has been terrible the last two years and is starting out that way but in 4 starts his triple slash against lefties is .133/.133/.333, last year in  8 starts it was .160/.290/.280, in 2013 in 32 starts it was .242/.296/.366.  Even at his worst CC can shot down lefties cold.  He clearly would be an outstanding loogy but he could be so much more than that.  I think with the ability to come in and air it out without trying to conserve he could pick up a couple MPH on his pitches and could be as effective as Andrew Miller.  Don't forget that our shutdown closer was 20-27 in 66 starts over 5 seasons with a 5.70 ERA and 1.732 WHIP.  Relieving is easier than starting, it's easier on the knees too.  Just because we picked up that stupid option doesn't mean we have to handicap ourselves every 5 days.  Our obligation to CC is to pay him, not humor him.

Joey it will pretty hard not to. Only the Yankees with Hal the finance geek in charge would approve a contract like that.
