I'm not surprised they're contending for a wildcard. I was however surprised they spent so much time in 1st place. That did surprise me. They played well the first half of the year and everybody else stuggled in the division. I will be not be happy if they miss the playoffs after blowing an 8 game lead in late July.

But Big Guy, this is not a team you had going to the post-season at all in April.

I thought they'd contend for a wild card. I didn't think they'd win the division though.

I'm sorry. They've nosedived and came up small when it mattered most with bone head errors and crappy pitching and hitting.  I respect anyone here being loyal and optimistic but come on, they have choked it up and it's sickening to stomach.

+1. You never know when you will get close again. They needed to do some tweeking and never did. I hate now when peopl esay they over achieved. It was a pleasant surprise but it would have been a lot better if the FO was.nt sleeping.

It's hard not to feel that way. They had a pretty big lead. They've had a poor 2nd half.

That's what is so frustrating.

And Mo I truly do admire your faith and optimism .. I also hope it's rewarded.

Pre-season, I had this team for dead last.

Early part of the season, worried about the wheels falling off.

Today, I will not say they are dead or overachieved, yes losing Tex is a big hit. Same with Eovaldi (I can't believe I am saying that). But we are 3.5 games back in the division and could end the series 1.5 back.

So we need to split this series and that begins now.

LETS GO YANKEES!!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you ... someone who is trying to look at the glass half full ... three cheers for you.

Is over.. look at the lineup for the second game. No Pirela, Refsnyder or Bird.

Is Mitchell playing 1st?...lol...he won't be pitching in the 2nd game so they should make use of him somehow.
