They would have more wins with competent management.. (owner and Manager). Warren should have never been taken out of the rotation just to get CC into it, and mgr has blown more than I can count and has killed the bullpem
Some balls would go a long way towards the success of this team.

I know what the problem is: listening to the lovefest commentating, whether it be on Fox, NESPN, MLB, TBS, etc. They are all so high on Toronto right now, not that Toronto is undeserving of accolades, but the media takes it to the extremes. They are so anti-Yankees and they have been for years. Hell, anyone who knows me knows what kind of a Pollyanna I am, but after listening to the commentating, it does leave one feeling disheartened. All that said, you're right Mo: this season is NOT over, there are still 22 games left for the Yankees to play, let's just root for them to continue to do great things and see what happens with the postseason. I've heard from countless people at the beginning of this season that this team would be lucky to be in 3rd place in the division, and look at where we are now!! Once again, the Yankees have proven the naysayers wrong and not only are we in a good position to get into the postseason, but the division is still well within reach. AND we've done this while losing players like Teixeira and Ellsbury for extended periods of time. I for one am always proud to be a Yankees fan; NO ONE will give me any kind of inferiority complex when it comes to this team nor when it comes to being a Yankees fan. You can choose to look at life with the glass half empty or the glass half full; I choose the latter. One of the reasons I'm hardly ever around anymore is because it seems many who choose to be optimistic have been driven off these boards with all the negativity, which some will claim to be "truth" even though opinions ARE NOT facts. As an outsider looking in, one would not think of these boards as a Yankees fan board. Much of what comes across goes even beyond critiquing the team to downright bashing the team that these folks claim to be fans of. No thank you. I could go on a Red Sox board, or any other board for that matter, if I wanted to read about people consistently bashing the team I am a fan of. Keep up the good fight Mo!! Have faith that there are many others like me out here cheering on the team, excited by the wins, saddened by the losses but looking forward to the next game.

Thanks diehard ... I know you don't come around anymore because of all the negativity on the boards ... but in their defense, they are a good group of people ... just not very optimistic when the going gets tough ... glad to hear from you at least once this season ... and you picked a good day to show up ... I needed to hear from someone else that has some positive energy.

if our expectations were not to make the playoffs, I'd be happy. When you wasted 200 million dollars on a glorified pinch runner who doesn't steal bases and a catcher who will eventually decline & a 38 year old outfielder when all that money could have been used in the international free agent market, then I'm mad. When you have a 7 game lead in the division and see your rival make moves and you make none, I'm mad. No "good job good effort" here. This isn't little league sports.

I didn't hear anyone say this team was winning the Division in the beginning of the season ... a lot of people were saying we would be in third place. I do, however, remember a few people saying we "might" make a wild card spot.

Every single player and person will eventually decline. Using that argument is futile. Everyone is entitled to their feelings, and I too was not happy that they didn't make moves at the trade deadline. The difference is I'm still going to cheer them on and hope for the best, not wallow in pity when they lose. I lived through and watched during the 80s when they stunk. Still a fan, first place or last place.

Our FO should have provided som reinforcements at the deadline. If they had, we couldn't complain. When the FO gives up, why expect us to be all rainbows and unicorns? They quit on us, not the other way around.

I never said you can't complain ... complain all you want ... I complain myself ... just trying to say that if we don't make it this year, we still had a fun season of baseball to watch, and in the beginning of the season we didn't even expect that.

Just one big tease. If we got help at the deadline, maybe we hold the BJs off.

There's no help coming at the deadline ... Eovaldi and Tex are down for the season ... this team will either win it or lose it ... but in the end we had a great time watching a team in contention all season long ... with the team the Yankees had this season, we didn't expect more than that at the beginning of the season ... many people didn't even expect that.
