Yeah, Henrik scares all of us when he leaves the crease in an attempt to play the puck. He has to be one of the worst puck handling goalies ever. He has gotten better but his strength is in stopping the puck, not passing it. That last one was costly.

Lundqvist amazingly still has great stats but his aging D doesn't make it easy. Girardi, Boyle and Stahl are half a step behind at times. Not bad most times but I am seeing some mistakes. Klein somehow gets better with age. The McDonagh/Gomez trade really worked out for the Rangers. Yandle is finally doing what he does best on the PP. McIlrath gets Boyle's job next year. I think AV is counting on Boyle for the PO's this season.

And like stripes said their 3rd period meltdowns must stop. These guys were great in the third, what happened?

I also don't like the 3 on 3. All teams look lost. Go back to 4 on 4 and let the SO die.

What's up with Lindberg? He had a great start and then vanished.

As far as Linberg goes quiz, I think unless someone gets hurt, he is going to be one of the black aces going forward in the playoffs. That 4th line of Moore, Glass and Stalberg have been one of the best lines the past few games, and there is no way you can break them up. But he is one of the young players with a future on this team, but he may have to wait till next season.

Well one thing that has really been a plus with this Ranger Team is the play of Yandle, he has really been all that we thought he could  and should be, and IMO, it just took AV too long to figure out something that he should have realized when we traded for this guy. And that is, he needs and should have a bulk of the ice time on D, and especially on the Power Play, this guy knows how to make those great passes, along with setting up the forwards to get goals. Now the Rangers have to figure out a way to keep him within the cap space for next season. We need this type of player on D.

And this Ranger Team needs to really go all out to win the Cup. They have one of the best goalies in the NHL, and his time is running out. He has not shown it yet, but it reminds me of when the Knicks had Patrick Ewing, and couldn't finish and win the NBA, and then time ran out on this great player. So lets do it now Rangers.

Well Ranger Fans, a win in Carolina, and the Rangers clinch a playoff spot. We control our own faith, and lets not push it to another game, lets do it now, and tonight. And then we can concentrate of holding on to the number 2 spot, and get home ice advantage, one step at a time. We need to play with playoff hockey with each game until the playoffs. Tonight will be emotional for Eric Staal, and I am sure he will get a standing O, along with a tribute to his career. Well deserved.

Time for Nash to step up and do what we got him for, and come up big, in these games. I know he was off for some time, but now its the time to produce.

Lets Do This Rangers, and Lets do it NOW

They couldn't clinch a PO spot against the Canes last night. That 1st period was an anemic display by NY. Imagine if the Canes make it to the big show and the Rangers don't.

They found their legs in the 2nd but at the end of it all allowed a mostly young, inexperienced Carolina team to score 4 goals and hand the Rangers a loss. Now thered hot Pens passed them and the Islanders are knocking on their back door.

The Rangers D was much better last year. I think they were 3rd for GA last season and now are wallowing mid-pack with all the other losers. I'm not impressed and the Rangers should be embarrassed.

At least Nash scored. He must have heard you tony.

As hockey fans we all realize that the PO's are an entirely different season. Anything can happen but first the Rangers must concentrate on getting there and then start winning against this years best players. I'm really not in the mood for another season fraught with lowlights and post game excuses.

I see that not one Canadien team is going to make the PO's. Price proves just how valuable a lights out goalie is in getting a team to the Cup.

Well, I can't put my finger on it, but something is really lacking on this Ranger Team. Is it that lack of leadership. Coaching, the lack of that killer instinct, or is this team just not that good? Maybe a combination of all? I am not about to give up on our Rangers, but they build you up, and you think, finally, they got it together, And then they come up with one of the worst efforts of the season, in the first period of the Carolina game, when they could nail down a playoff spot. And they lose to one of the worst teams in the NHL, with practically a team of no names. And it seems to be the same old BS talking points after terrible games. I am tired of these talking points by the players and the coaching staff, with the same old BS excuses and talking points. Enough already, put up, or Shut the F up. And how about the head coach, call time out in a game, and a first period like in Carolina, and chew some A$$ out on the bench. How can you go into a game like that, with the playoffs and 2nd place on the line, with only 6 games to go, and one of your worst efforts of the entire season?

So now we are in 3rd place, only 5 games to go, Islanders and Pens playing each  other today, and we play Buffalo. Who to root for in that Islander, Pens game with Cindy the Punk, two of my most hated teams. The Islanders will always be number 1 in the hate bracket, but Cindy the Punk, and the Pens are a close 2nd.

Lets see what this Ranger Team is made of today. At this late time in the season, shouldn't have to even think, to say, lets see what they are made of.

Well that's my vent for today.

I'm not giving up on them until the math says otherwise but you're right, something is lacking. I think their biggest problem is the D and the GA stats back that up. They are 13th in GA this season. The previous 5 years they were between 3rd and 5th in GA. This is their most glaring weakness.

Lundqvist, as good as he is, can only so so much when the defense screws up. An aging defense are the obvious culperts but good D is a team effort so they don't get all the blame.

The Pens are up 1-0 on the Isles and Fleury is out with a concussion for who knows how long.

The Sabres are out of it but they won't lay down. This, on paper anyways, should be the easiest game left on the schedule for NY. The Rangers better come out skating for a full 60 minutes and beat these clowns to clinch a PO berth or this could get really phucking ugly by next week.

One word pathetic it's the Rangers as players don't care why should we as fans care. I have really had it with this team.  how long is it going to take for this Ranger team to realize that hockey is a 60-minute game. Right now I am so p pis sed off. Listening to the BS talking points after the game, made my blood boil. A two man Advantage for a complete two minutes and they are lucky they got a shot on goal pathetic.

You're more tolerant than I am Tony. As soon as I saw the green light I deleted the game from my DVR.  I was in no mood to sit through yet another barrage of post-games excuses and pointless analysis.

That 5 on 3 was pathetic. 2 minutes, 2 extra skaters and they couldn't find the twine. Inexcusable.

4 games left and no guarantee of a PO berth. Inexcusable.

They didn't look hungry in the 1st. Inexcusable.

Pittsburgh and their whiny poster boy Cindy blanked the Islanders with their backup goalie and cliched a PO spot. The Flyers are poised to blow by the Rangers and send them golfing. I'm beyond ****ed off.

How can I forget 3 goals on 9 shots? AV did the right thing by yanking him off the ice.

quiz, I am still fuming at the lack of killer instinct and I have to be honest, 2 mins after the first face off, I said to my self, this team has not shown up again. I could see it coming 5 mins into the game. How can you not get up for a game like this, when you are aware that the Punk Cindy and the Pens beat the Islanders in an afternoon game. Where is the leadership on this team?

You know, I have played allot of hockey in my younger days, and by no means to I consider myself a NHL player, but I know this game well, and love it more then any other sport in the world. I know enough to realize when  you have a 2 man advantage, for a full 2 mins. and your playoff position is on the line, you don't take the puck and just kill off valuable time by passing the puck behind the net and around the boards instead of lining up the 2 man advantage in front of the goalie, get the puck back to point and fire away, every chance you get. Screen the goalie, pick up the rebounds, charge the net, don't go crazy looking for that pretty pass. And most of all fire the puck on net. Last night and against Carolina if we could have gotten rid of 4 players, we could be unbeatable. All we have to do is get rid of: Wide, Miss the Net, High, and turn the puck over. What a team this could be.

I can't believe what I read in the NY Post today quoting Marc Staal, saying we did a lot of good things in that game. Wake the F up Marc, you and your team are on the way to playing golf instead of playoff hockey. Give us all a break. Someone have the B alls to say after a game like that,  WE S UCK, AND WE NEED TO GET OUR $hit together.

And AV needs to stop with always looking on the bright side and break a few hockey sticks in the locker room, and shut the door to the media, and put a sign on the locker room door, closed meeting players and coaches only. And break a few tables and chairs along with water coolers.

Two wins and no golf, at least not yet.

The Lightning lit them up in the 1st. They're down 2-0 after 6 minutes and I'm not pleased. They seemed to wake up after Glasses bogus 5 minute major in the 1st but were ineffective until halfway thru the game. Then they scored 3 unanswered goals against a good team.

I think McDonagh's done for the season and if he does manage to come back he will be hobbled by a broken hand just like last years PO's when he skated with a broken foot.

Stahl seems to be playing much better which is great considering McDonagh's absense. Maybe Eric's joining the team sparked him because he was sloppy and off. McIlrath was a beast and I'm glad AV sat Boyle. Even when McIlrath made a mistake he quickly realizes it and adjusts. When he fanned on that slap shot from the right point he immediately turned and headed back towards his net and made a great check on the boards to negate the giveaway. I also like the way he stood up at the blue line. I'm also happy with Skjei play. He has to step it up because Girardi might also be done with a concussion.

I didn't think Boyle deserved that 5 minute major. From the replays and Boyle's body language it didn't appear to be a dirty hit, just an unfortunate confluence of two bodies in an ever decreasing space. Boyle, like most NHLers, plays hard but clean.

I liked the way Yandle went after the much larger Boyle after the hit. The mikes picked up every curse word emanting from Yandle and it was great! I hope Girardi is OK. That was scary.

Damn Pens come back with 5 unanswered goals from 3-0 to win. Unreal without their goalie and Malkin. Isle's beat the Caps in OT and the Horned Ones lost. Not that they matter this season but since the mid 90's to mid 00's they owned the Rangers and I dislike them immensely for that.
