All good points quiz. I agree Boyle didn't deserve a 5 min. Major, but he definitely deserved  a boarding penalty, or an interference penalty. He hit Girardi well after he was no where near the puck. He tried to slow down some, but he was coming in real hard, and Girardi did not have the puck. Even though he tried to hold up, that was a very hard hit from behind and into the boards. He may be an ex Ranger, but he is no longer a Ranger and I could care less about him or anyone else that was an ex Ranger and is not warning a Ranger Jersey. And I was a Boyle Fan.

Yes we hung on, and got the big x next to the Rangers name in the standings and we are in the playoffs. But I am very disappointed still about having control of second place for almost the entire season, and then we throw it away by losing to 2 teams, with the worst records in the NHL. No excuse, and IMO, there is no excuse for that, and not showing up for those games.

Tomorrow (Thursday Night) is one of the biggest games of the season for me. We need to make a statement against these A Hole FishSticks, this is a test for the playoffs, to see who wants it more. Rangers have to stop giving away the first periods in games and fighting back from behind all the time. You are not going to go anywhere in the playoffs with that kind of hockey, in a 7 game series. We cannot allow the Islanders to knock us into the wild card position, even if playing Florida would be a better fit in the first round instead of Cindy the punk and the Pens. This is a big game against the FishSticks and the Rangers better be up for this 100%, and give a complete 60 min effort. This game has to be won by the Rangers in regulation time. We cannot give these guys a point.

So, again, lets see what this Ranger Team is made of. So far, when ever we have played the Islanders, they play like they want it more then we do. Rangers are on home ice, and they need to win this one for their fans, and they owe to the fans to win this game. If they knew, how important it is to Ranger Fans like myself that have been around since the Islanders first came in the NHL and before that, they would know how important this is to us. If I could get into the locker room tomorrow night before the game and talk to these Rangers Players, and tell them how much we Ranger Fans hate the Islanders, and tell them how in the 80's after a loss to these A Holes I would come home and find a Black Wreath on my door, among other things. They would win this game.

I am up for this game  big time, but that means nothing if the Rangers are not up for it.

Yeah, interference or boarding would have been the right call on Boyle. Maybe that was payback for the weak major on Glass.

2 games to go. The Sticks don't scare me like the Caps and now the Pens do. Pens are the hottest team in the league now.

Tough break, no pun intended, for McDonagh. All I've read is that he will miss the next two regular season games but even if he comes back, his hand is injured/broken/cracked and that will cause his performance to suffer. I still haven't heard about Girardi. I hope AV gives McIlrath a shot but he'll probably give Boyle his last hurrah because of his PO experience. I am concerned about the overall weakness of the D this season.

Whatever happens or whomever they play, the Rangers better change their typical first period snooze-fest and come out skating in berserk mode and not let up until 60 minutes have passed.

I've also read that by losing the Rangers will have an easier start to the PO's. Since AV started Lundqvist for the last set of back to back games he doesn't appear to want to take the easy road. Whatever, it's time to produce. Nash is doing everything right except scoring. Time to pick up his O play. Brassard and Zuccs have been consistent all year and there is no reason to think that won't continue. Stepan and Kreider have woken up at the right time. The 4th line is solid with the addition of Stalberg. He is great at takeaways. I didn't notice Linberg's play last game but he only had 6 minutes.

We are playing our most hated rivals, the FishSticks on home ice, it's Steven McDonalds extra effort awards day, along with NY Rangers awarding their MVP of the year, along with, player of the year, voted by the players. We lost the first 3 games  to the Fishsticks, and this last game in front of the Rangers Loyal and die hard fans at MSG, is a big game for position in the playoffs, and the FishSticks have 5 starting players out of the game, along with playing a rookie back up goalie, and they look, and play like they could care less. Pathetic performance, terrible defense, a minor effort, back checking and forechecking, and another embarrassing performance by the NY Rangers.

I will never give up on the Rangers, because I am a true and loyal die hard Ranger Fan, but I have to face reality and no matter who we play in the playoffs, I have a feeling it will be an early exit. Hope I am wrong, but I really haven't had the confidence in this team all season long, that I had the past two seasons, and it is not even close to having the confidence, I had in the Rangers 94 season. I never had a doubt about that team the entire season and playoffs.

Where is the leadership on this team? Where is the hungry will to win? Where is the heart and soul of this team? and where is the killer instinct?, and most of all where is the team play of my teammate right or wrong, and an eye for an eye?  hate to say, I don't see any of these with this team, a couple of individuals? maybe?

Same here. I had confidence in this team over the last two years. Not anymore.

If they were down by 2 in the 3rd last year I just knew they had a chance to score and win.  Their D is off and so is Henrik at times. That's not the formula needed to win the Cup.

Even the sports writers wrote them off. You never know what the future holds but judging by this seasons defensive stats this team is much weaker this year and they know it and show it on the ice.

Losing to the sticks was tough. My phone rang right after that 3rd quick goal. My Islander fan buddy called to bust my balls and laugh about a depleted team schooling the Rangers with a backup goalie and numerous injured players. My only retort was Potvin sucks and he said so does NY. I had no witty comeback.

I wonder if the Garden had extra mikes turned on because I heard numerous chants honoring Potvin. Toot, toot, toot...Potvin sucks! I'm sure some of the Red Wings were trying to figure out what was going on.

Let's hope the fans keep that energy level high for when those flightless peckerheads come to town. Winning 14 out of 16 is real impressive but that all can change if the Ranger franchise is embarrassed by only 1 Cup in 76 years and comes out in berserk mode.

If Nash can start to score he just might energize E Stahl, Hayes and others to follow suit. This team needs a Messier to guarantee a win and lead by example. Otherwise it might be a loss in 6 like the sports writers are predicting.

Well bring on Cindy the Punk and the Pens. I am so happy that we took 3rd place, instead of those A Holes the Islanders, who are a bunch of phony's, who tanked it against the Flyers so they could play Florida, instead of the Penguins. Bush Team, and they will get exactly what they deserve. Any team, in any sport, especially in hockey that is afraid to play any team, at any time, and looks to even think about saying they would rather play this team or that team, is a loser, and has a losers mentality, and that's just what this Islander team and all 8 of their fans are. LOSERS.

Rangers will beat the Penguins, and Florida will beat the FishSticks. I watched that Flyer and Islander game, and listened to their fans, along with Howe Rose, and Butch Goring, laughing about losing to the Flyers and glad they are playing Florida. Rangers beating them out of 3rd place is a big plus for me as a fan, and hater of the Islanders and their phony fly by night fans.

Can't wait for Wednesday Night, so we can take it to the Penguins. We are going to win this series.

SO LET IT BE WRITTEN, SO LET IT BE DONE.

So it appears that almost everyone who covers hockey has written off the Rangers except for Melrose. I could care less.

The Rangers need to come out in berserk mode for a full 60 minutes. No excuses. NY needs Lundqvist to stand on his head and Nash and E Stahl have to find the net. No excuses. If these old timers can do that the Rangers have a bunch of 20 goal scorers to generate wins.

I want to hear LGR chants at the CEC. I want to hear Zuuuc chants. I want to hear the Potvin whistle. I want the Rangers to feel right at home and beat hte flightless peckerheads into submission in their house! Maybe I'm asking for too much so I'll settle for a WIN!

Once again, a 3rd string goalie stands on his head and defeats the Rangers. Our goalies let 4 go by not counting the empty net.

The Rangers put in a good effort and came out screaming but couldn't find the net unless their name was Stepan. Nash, quiet. E Stahl, quiet.

I hope Lundqvist is OK. That was scary watching him down on the ice writhing in pain.

Well, the only positive from last night's beatdown was the Consol's keyboardist was playing the Potvin chant but for some reason the crowd had the words wrong.

How many times last night did you see Lundqvist crease, filled with penguins? Almost all, night long. How many times did you see the Penguins crease filled with Rangers. Zero. A rookie in the net you need to get traffic in front of him. Sure we got a lot of shots on goal but they were wrist shots, and all Penguins around him to pick up,the rebounds.
You need traffic in the crease you can't score from behind the net.
That rookie saw every shot.
