So Mike Sullivan leads them to a Cup. Maybe we should have tossed Vigneault and promoted him.

The Rangers future is bleak. Their best shot was these last few years and especially last season. An aging D is killing their game. A sniper who can't find the bulls eye and some fast young guys who just aren't panning out.

Management are bad decision makers. Witness the Hagelin trade.

An expensive goalie who after 11 years can't get them the Cup by himself. Trading him gets them talent.

What do they do?

I expected more from the Rangers like I do the Yankees. NYC teams. A long history in their respective leagues. Sadly, both teams are going nowhere for a while.

Slats was one of my Ranger favs as a player but as GM, whew, did he suck. Not so sure Gortons going to do any better.

Sather was great for the Oilers but then again I'd be too with the duo of Gretzky and Messier.

We'll see if Gorton pans out over the next few years. I wasn't happy with the E Stahl trade. The Rangers gave up a couple of 2nd round picks and he didn't produce. I realize they were shooting for the Cup but the Rangers seem to have a knack for getting talent on the wrong side of the curve.

Watching the Penguins winning the cup was worst then the Rangers being knocked out as soon as the whistle was blown for the end of the game I turned the TV off there was no way I wanted to see Sydney Crosby celebrate with the Cup
