Yeah, I didn't know who was who either. I think I recognized only about five sweater numbers.

As hockey fans, we realize that these pre-season games are primarily for the coaches but I was impressed.

My eyes were glued to Girardi and Staal. It was quite a scare to see that puck deflect of Dan's right knee. He appeared to shake it off with no ill effects so I assume the crack healed over the summer. Nice 180' short-handed, empty netter. I'm hoing with less ice time these two aging D men will get it done. I was impressed with McIlrath, Skjei, Clendening and Bodie. Skjei had some nice offensive moves. McIlrath has a scary slapshot.

Kreider is developing into a power forward. Zibanejad for Brassard looks like it was an even trade. The Rangers got younger and I think Zibanejad will get better with age. It appears the team finally has some FO guys who can set up that important first pass. Lots of potential with these new forwards. Pirri and Buchnevich looked good.

More good news from last night was the PP and PK. Too many penalties but these guys are fighting for a precious few spots. Rare to see Girardi take two. Hopefully, this teams PP will finally climb out of the basement.

Even the two goalies impressed me. They both made some killer saves and it's good to know that when Lundqvist retires we have prospects.

Like bob01 said, LI didn't have their best out there but a very impressive win by NY. I'm real happy with the GT and F. I'll feel a lot better when I see how the Rangers D look against the top lines of the NHL.

Horned Ones tomorrow night.

Well it was just great to watch the Rangers Playing Hockey. But it never changes with Sam and Joe, they spend all night talking about everything under the sun, except for what's going on, on the ice. We as Ranger Fans, want to know who is on the ice, and who is who, being there are all new guys on the ice with new numbers on their backs, and if Sam and Joe want to talk about how deserving Sam is to be put in the hockey hall of fame, do your job and be prepared for the first game and know who is who on the ice and what number he is wearing, and concentrate on the play by play, instead of The History of The World Part 2. Sam didn't even know what period it was, and he is back to usual. I have kept saying for years listening to Sam, Hey Sam who is "Oh Excuse Me" and who is "Oh I am Sorry"  because they seem to be on the ice every game and every period. Get your Shet Together Sam.

I like what I saw against the Rangers, and it doesn't matter that both teams didn't have their regular players, this is all about finding out what the Rangers have in debt, and who wants to earn ice time. There are jobs open, and everyone on the Rangers know that, and that's good. It's nice to see the Rangers have a pretty good core of Goalies in the organization. I really liked what I saw from McILrath, and I really want to see him in the starting line up. AV and the coaching staff have their work cut out for them to determine who will make this team.

Yes Bobo, I really like what I see from Pirri. He is always at the right spot on the ice and ready to fire a shot and a one timer. Something this team needs. I am very impressed with him. AV has some tough decisions to make. And that's a good thing.

Lots of talent on this team. It's nice to see an effective PK and PP.

It's also a nice to see that these guys are finally able to dump or carry the puck into the O zone and score.

Letting in 5 goals was sloppy though. They also need to get better at backchecking. The Horned Ones had their number for a bit when they were relentlessly pressuring the Rangers.

The potential for a high scoring team is there. Time will tell.

I don't think Raanta and Lundqvist have to worry about their places on the team!

I'll wait until I see some more of the kids though before commenting on them.

Good point. A lot of these guys hit a brick wall when they get to the NHL.

Well Bobo, I have something to say AV better keep McILrath in the line up when the season starts along with some more muscle, or these young rookies are going to be in for a rough time. There needs to be a pay back this game for Vessy, send the message NOW!!!!! I don't care if its pre season have some b alls AV

At the very least Rangers have to get pat back big time Thursday at MSG
