There have been two excellent treatments of the issue.  One was the movie "Concussion" which dealt with the gist of the matter in spite of some typical Hollywood hype.  The other was an HBO Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel episode on the 1985 Chicago Bears.  When you see what these guys are like today it is really sobering.  If you can find it, I highly recommend it.

Here's a trailer.  And Richard Dent backs up your observation about the drugs.

I watched the vid you posted but couldn't find the entire piece. McMahon is in rough shape.

At least the truth about CTE is out in the open despite the efforts of the self-serving NFL.

The NHL is going to lose its case too.  The evidence becomes more conclusive all the time.  Bettman may as well settle and move on.

Hey, Tony....  Gudas got six games for this hit but nothing for driving Vesey face first into the boards.  Typical NHL.

Okay - always good to beat the fishsticks.

Still got to work on getting back after a turnover... or even better, stop making turnovers.

Crazy third period. It's been a while since the Rangers owned the Isles and Halak. It was nice to see them get lit up.

The PP is effective and finally a joy to watch.

It appears that the Rangers have the talent to be one of the highest scoring teams in the league this season.

Notice the way this Ranger team is clearing the crease.

This is new for this season, but it hasn't been a given for quite sometime now, except when McILrath has played and its not a one man job its a teams job, and thats what I saw against the FishSticks and I am very excited about it, because Thats the game Buke played, and this is what I expected him to preach.
And I loved what I saw, and IMO, I don't expect it to change.
Ain't nothing better than starting off the season beating the F ing FishSticks
Willie, Mickey and the Duke, Now That Was Baseball in NY.
