Joba as the bridge? from northern clipper

I read an article saying that Joba was available and that the Yankees should pursue him.  He could settle into a steady role (something he didn't have here the first go-round), his numbers were superior to other options like Swarzak et al., he's familiar with the Yankees, etc..  Sorry I can't find the article (if someone does, please feel free to post).  I figure "what could it hurt?  Your take?  nc

No, thanks.

It might work, but who needs the drama.

Besides, Number One, the past would be in the wrong direction. We're going to the future. Let's see what's out there.

I don't disagree with you re the future, qwik, but right now our middle relief options are not good and neither are their stats.  Just sayin' it might be worth a look for the short term.  nc

Layne has done pretty well. Let's see what Heller offers.

I'd consider it, bring him in for the rest of the year and see if he can earn a bullpen spot for next year. For a deal like that, why not?

I agree.  There's plenty of guys we have to make decisions about in the off-season.  If we're going to use roster spaces, let's see them.

The strange part, and I can't say I have pitch a lick this year, but his ERA was 2.25 with 18K's in 20 innings.

Odd, no one has picked him up. Anyone know the reason?

Clippard and Warren might have been the under the radar moves this team needed and no one talks about, they are both back to form and doing great! Heller is the future Seventh inning guy if we bring back Chapman if not he could either pitch the 8th or close...

Joba's a headcase. He's no better than anybody they have already.

if we were totally out of it I would say lets go for it, but we are 2 and a half out of a second wild card.
