Since 93-94, growing up watching the MSG network eagerly  waiting for the next Knicks season, and new postseason nightmares, here was thing called baseball and a bunch of fellas in Pinstripes playing a competely new ballgame. Of course it was very easy falling for that developing club filled with gritty warriors like the O'Neill (my favorite, always) Boggs and of course Mattingly. And it was nice watching the young Bernie grow up too mimicing his crouch compact swing each night between doing my crappy math homework. Never did I know how incredible of a journey my younger self would take watching this pleasent summer treat turn into my paramount passion. Thank God for the Yankees and all the memories they provided in my lucky life. Outside my family and faith, nothing could ever compare to growing up with that distinct pleasure of being a Yankees fan.

Good times growing up on summer vacation with the Yankees and slowly anticipating the new Knicks season. As the 90s went on, my priorities swiftly flipped and I've never gone back for my heart was won during a magical childhood with my heros in pinstripes and summer nights watching MSG, suddenly dreading the Knicks season.

The 1957 WS when the Yankees lost to the Milwaukee Braves headlined by Hank Aaron, Eddie Matthews, Warren Spahn and Lew Burdette. Grew up in the Mantle era and it was magic for a kid Yankee fan.

First year I can remember sitting on my grandpa's lap and him teaching me about the Yankees ... 1964.

For me it was 1968 and it's a bit of an unusual story. I grew up in a family of Tiger fans. My brothers loved Al Kaline but I was a big fan of Rocky Colavito. The "Rock" got traded quite a bit and I followed him until he made his final stop to the Yanks in '68. I'll never forget watching a game in which the Tigers were putting a beating on the Yanks and the bullpen was empty so they brought Rocky in to pitch. He pitched either 2 or 3 scoreless innings and the Yankees rallied to win.

1993. Really didn't start following them until 2000. Grew up with the Era of Bernie, Tino Jeter, Brocious, Shane Spencer

Nuff said -

Back to my roots though - catch the odd game on TV, otherwise I'm a Comcast/YES orphan.

The Year: 1977

The Date: October 18

Me and my family were celebrating a very important day in Bat History. It was as if the stars were aligned in such a way that history was about to happen. That event was....I would be a Yankee fan forever. Oh yeah....and Reggie's 3 homeruns too.

Hmmmm...I wonder if my dad still has my old Burger King poster?
