I think it was terrible what the Republicans did to Obama's Supreme Court nominee. That being said, I hope the Democrats don't put on a dog and pony show with Gorsuch. It's a foregone conclusion. Confirm the guy and move on. I'm listening to Blumenthal now on Morning Joe. I really don't care for that guy.

Senators Murphy and Blumenthal have said that they will use the fillibuster to oppose Gorsuch ... and Schumer backed them.

In an op ed submitted to Politico Magazine, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) promised that Democrats will filibuster the confirmation of Judge Neil Gorsuch, President Donald Trump’s nominee for the Supreme Court seat vacated by the death of Justice Antonin Scalia in 2016. According to Schumer, this decision means that “Neil Gorsuch needs 60 votes,” which means that he does not believe that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell will use the so-called “nuclear option” and change Senate rules to eliminate judicial filibusters with a bare majority.

Rare disagreement New, because of a few questions. Why do the Democrats always have to be the adults in the room? Why should the Republicans bad behavior be rewarded for not doing their Constitutional duty?

More importantly. Why are the Democrats being asked to play by different rules?

There's no way to sugar coat it, it's a stolen SC seat. Reagan was in his 4th year and after hearings, eventually he and a Democratic majority in Congress agreed on a nominee. The Republican majority in Congress should have done the same thing. What's right is right and what's fair is fair. Also, keep in mind that some Cons are even on record saying they wouldn't give a SC appointee a hearing should Hillary win.

Therefore, when the next SC seat opens up Gorsuch should get a hearing and confirmed, but until then Trump should appoint a moderate like Garland this time or Dems should indeed filibusterer and force McConnell to use the nuke option. By doing so the Dems will lose, but win over the long haul.

Good idea, but it makes too much sense for it to happen.

Why not Neil Gorsuch and Merrick Garland on the Supreme court?

Just reported:  Activist Democrats have stated that there will be consequences for those that do not oppose Judge Gorsuch.
