as great as torres has looked in spring training, they're not rushing him. if it's short term, then i think they go with the experience - tejada.

If it's a long term injury maybe we can pry Stephen Drew away from the Nationals. He has always been so reliable for the Yankees. What do you think Big?

There are reports he's headed back to Tampa early after suffering a right shoulder injury. Let's hope it's not serious. If he can't start the season, who takes his spot?

Wade most likely

Tyler Wade do you mean? I would think one of our top Prospects no? What about Tejada somewhat of a veteran?

Do you expect them to rush Mateo or start the clock on a prospect like Torres?

So Wade.

I dont know It seems Mateo has been in our minor Leagues a long Time I think he Is ready but I wouldnt rush Torres ...

Mets fans talk highly of Tejada wouldnt mind him either. He had a great 2015 if it wasnt for Utley breaking his leg in the championship game what could have been?

Mateo hasn't played above A ball.  He's not ready.

I'm certainly a huge supporter of playing kids that are physically and mentaly ready but they shouldn't be pushed. I don't know much about this Wade kid but ss is the glue of the infield. I think if Didi is out for a month or so I would put Tejada in there. If it's more long term, the Yanks have some big decisions to make

only because the Yankees are taking it really slow with him. Reality of the situion here is Didi probabably could miss a monh or less, a combination of Refsnyder, Toreyus, and Tejada could work for about a month or so slide castro over to SS and let the ohers i mentioned play second. we dont even know the extent of his injury it could be minor and they tell him to ice it and he is ready to go opening day?

How about Martin Prado I wouldnt think we would have to part with much for him? is he still with Atlanta or the Marlins?

That won't happen. They tried to get him back early last offseason and the cost was too high. Miami has no reason to deal him anyway. If the Yankees were to make a trade for somebody it would be a cheap alternative. I've already seen Freddy Galvis' from the Phillies being mentioned as a possiblity. I doubt they'd trade for anybody.

One thing is for sure. Torres is starting the year at AA, at least for a couple months. Cashman has already said that and its the smart move. If Didi were to be out most of the year then he could be a serious candidate after that time. Before then on a short-term injury, which this probably is, its more like they'd go with an inhouse option. If its only for a couple weeks they may just use Torreyes and slide Castro to short when Torreyes needs an occasional day off with Refsnyder then filling in at 2nd. Another option is Tyler Wade and use him until Didi gets back then they could send him back to AAA to play more regularly. My money's on Torreyes or Wade.

Not that it matters because Prado is not the fix but he pulled his hammy a few days ago and may not start the season.
