mateo has really hit his stride at AA. would hate to lose him. billy bean is a dunce, hopefully we can give up a similar package to what toronto gave up for donaldson.

If it's for Mateo and Headley fine

Fot Alonso? I wouldn't part with Mateo to just have some team take Headley. If it was Ellsbury then we have something to talk about.

Unless they want to do the impossible and dump Ellsbury (which I doubt happens) there is nowhere for Mateo to play unless they let Castro walk. I kind of like Castro at this point. He's still young and has fit in well in NY. I do think Mateo ends up in CF eventually. He needs to be protected on the 40-man too, which I guess could work for a while but it sucks to have him stuck in the minors behind 4-5 other OF's. If that's the case you may as well trade him for a more immediate need. I just having a hard time seeing how he fits into the future plan. If it wasn't for that I would not want him traded as he has a ton of talent.

Joey I think Mateo with his skill set can be the super utility player the Yanks are wanting Wade to be. He can play the middle infield and CF now.Out of the two would would you rather be in that role. Do that with him and when a position opens then he can take that. You figure Torres if he heals right should be up next year. I think he should be at 2nd. Castro skill set can play at 3rd. If Andujar pushes then a decision has to be made there.

I think me and are wishful thinking on Ellsbury. The only way you get something for him without eating a large chuck is if you take somebody elses bad contract back.

Then give Ells away for a couple cases of hot dogs. He's nearly useless outside of being a rangey CF with no arm. He doesn't steal anymore and even if he did he doesn't get on base enough to steal in the first place. Batting him 8th and 9th is where he belings so I give Joe credit for that.

Headley while hitting well has yet to get a big hit with RISP in I don't know how long? I just know he has 5 RBI's this month, which is awful at a premium power position. I can deal with one of Headley Ellsbury and Frazier but not all 3 in one day in the same lineup. Headley did have a couple hits tonight, but again when a runner is on it's light contact for an INF groundout or a K. He's not a power hitter and he's not a clutch hitter. I really hope that this "hot streak" helps to find him a home elsewhere.

Mateo has looked great at AA and his value has probably never been higher. I'd like to keep him around but if they moved him for the right piece I wouldn't be too upset. I can see him getting a nice return as he's an everyday SS or CF in my eyes. I didn't realize how old Alonso is. I'd hope that he'd not be dealt for another guy soon to be on the wrong side of 30. Not really too crazy about Sonny Gray either. Too many injuries and also soon to be old. I like our MiLB arms better, particularly Seth Smith. Chance Adams is going to hit his innings limit pretty soon, as is Acevedo. Both put together nice seasons though.

If they keep Ellsbury I'd sit him down and tell him the guys we have are playing good and they will play over him. When Hicks comes back they have a decision to make. If Clint keeps this up how they can send him down. He plays with energy to. Really liking what I see of him

The other Frazier Todd looks terrible. I never liked his swing and right now he looks like Chris Cater is back. He's lucky Kanale was in that deal along with Robetson or I'd be flipping out.

Headley just has no pop. I'll take the hits for as long as it lasts but he's not going to give you anywhere near the production you want out of 1st base. A continuing trend all year. The way it's going he should go back to 3rd and sit Frazier.

Trade Kevin Brown (trade Kevin Brown)

for Sonny Gray (for Sonny Gray)

Cashman  went for a walk on a summers day (on a summers day)

If he asked Hal (if he asked Hal)

He could make that trade today (make that trade today)

The Oakland A's are house cleaning on such a summers day.

What would the As want with Betances? He's not young and they arent contending.

I'm not saying the Yanks should trade him but Betances isn't old and the A's can always trade him for prospects after he establishes himself as an every day closer.

Yeah but he's not young either, he's in his prime but the As arent contending, only way Betances would get Gray would be if a 3rd team got involved.
