Ellsbury plays CF.  Frazier doesn't.

It would be a dream come true if they decided to just release Ellsbury and Headley.  Waste of roster spots.

Brett Gardner is still here. Hicks does when he comes back.

Ellsbury is untradeable unless the Yanks eat a huge portion of his contract and he still might not be tradeable . Either they cut bait or say your a backup OFer because you have shown us nothing that says thats not what you are. Frazier is the future. Start it now if they are serious about winning games.

Agreed, bench Els. Hicks has earned a place in the Yankees starting lineup when he comes back.

West coast starting times for night games stink!!!!!

Can I get an amen?  Things will get really awkward when Hicks returns.

Great article. So great, let me post some excerpts because...

I know SOME people didn't read it and are posting comments based on the thread title alone.

"Here is what Gardner means to the growth of young outfielders like Judge and Frazier:

“Gardner has got gold,’’ Judge told The Post. “Any information you can get from him you get, you just have to find that nugget.’’

Gardner said he’s just following the lead of the veterans who came before him.

“It’s kind of hard to believe I’ve been around as long as I have, but it’s just about embracing the situation, and I have,’’ Gardner said. “All the guys before me, whether it be Derek [Jeter], Johnny Damon or Jason Giambi, I remember how they were to me as a young player and I am returning that favor. “That’s part of the game,’’ Gardner added. “The more comfortable these guys feel in the clubhouse and on the field, the better we are going to play as a team.’’

You know what they call those type of people? REAL YANKEES.

As for Clint Frazier, nobody should be surprised if he might be the one to go backto Scranton if and when Hicks comes back. Why? Because I told you so.  (link)

The only thing that can save Frazier from being temporarily demoted is if he pulls a "2016 Gary Sanchez."  Other than that...he gawn! won't be gone for that long.

It's called having Hal in charge. There is no eating contracts in his world.

Money matters more to Hal than winning.

That's why they'll never get another dime of my money.

Ya know.....

I, like most people, can't stand the Ellsbury contract.

However, these two statements are just absolutely Ridiculous with a capital "R"

NYY always play contracts NOT players performance, EAT all garbage contracts/players & go with the #99's, the future in 1952 was # 7, #5 didn't take newcomer #7 well. PS A_ HOLE I CAN SPELL

Red Sox showed us the way when they sent Sandoval to the minors Do the same with Ellsbury, were stuck with the contract, deal with it.. don't cut off your nose to spite your face

You two are trying to equate Pablo Sandoval with Jacoby Ellsbury?

You think that Sandoval's .237/.286/.360 career as a Red Sox is comparable to Ellsbury's .263/.326/.380 as a Yankee?

I'm sorry, but this statement is as crazy as DMoney's suggestion to DFA a .250/.340 batter in Chase Headley....LOL.

LOL...since when does a player get DFA's for averaging 1 base hit for every 4 at bats?

LOL..."Red Sox showed us the way..."
