Why dont they promote this kid Chance Adams and see what he can do? Pineda is finished with the Yankees after this year they woud be insane to resign him coming off surgery. I dont think Cessa is the answer but I love Chad Green. With all of the arms they have in the pen now not sure why they dont move Green into a starting role.

Because the Yankee brass don't think he's ready or they would have already promoted him.

I think it's more that the Yankee brass is trying to use whatever bullets currently on the 40 man, before giving him a shot.
The guy has put up good numbers since being moved up to AAA. He had a rough outing or two, but overall he's done very well. He certainly is heads and tails better than anything they have currently tried from the farm system, barring Severino. Monty had 6 starts in AAA last year, and put up amazing numbers, but Adams has put up very good numbers at every level and it would seem his control is great given his WHIP numbers.

Adams has an innings limit. This is only his second year as a starter. Also his BB/9 rate is too high. It's a 3.9/9 which you won't get away with in the majors. He should be ready next year if he can improve his command.

He throws 4 pitches fastball, changeup, curveball & slider. Just needs to improve his command.
