If not for the throw to nail Nunez at 3rd, it's at minimum a tie game.

Girardi has no feel for a reliever that hasn't got it.  Somebody mentioned it earlier.  He'll let Chapman and  Betances stay in way past their expiration date.  Betances should have been up after the first walk.

If you start someone warming everytime there is a walk, your relievers won't have any confidence. Girardi has to show confidence in Chapman. Why mess with his head?

Honestly, chapman is a veteran, do you really think he will lose confidence if girardi took him out? He throws 102 and has a history of success. If he was a young rookie, then you can talk about confidence.

If you do it a lot, you will send the wrong message.  In a game 7 you do stuff like that, but not now, and not to Chapman. He's the guy who you gave $86 million, and the Yankee closer role. He seems flighty to me.

It seems you are talking about more of his emotions then confidence. This is baseball man, it's not about one guy. Just because they gave him 86 mil, doesn't mean he's not subject to criticism to show him that if he does not do his job, someone else can.

Girardi is considered by most knowledgeable baseball people as one of, if not the best bullpen manager. He gave Chapman a longer leash than some were comfortable with, but it turned out to work.

Thanks to Bostons bonehead play with no outs!    Smile

Boone: You know my mama wanted me to be a farmer.

Judge: My dad wanted me to be a baseball playe

Boone: Well you're better than any player I ever had. And you're the best  damn hitter I ever saw. Suit up.

I thought Joe made a mistake by not getting the pen up earlier.I would have gotten up Kahnle instead of Betances once runners got on 1st and 2nd because of Betances inability to hold runners and his own control issues. IMO Joe didn't have a great game. Doesn't make him a bad bullpen manager.

Betances would have given me another heart attack... don't think I can take 2 hear attacks in one game!

Wasn't Kahnle up alongside Chapman in the 8th ? If so, I don't understand why you warm up Betances too, Kahnle should have been almost ready at the start of the inning.
