Hicks had the double and the HR.  He also hit a ball earlier in the game that probably would have gone out if his timing was a little better.

Plus he played great defense. Him seeing Nunez taking third and throwing him out was huge.

No question Hicks is the player of the game. His homer got the offense going.. Additionally his execution of the double play was tremendous as Chapman loaded the bases with disaster looming. .

Always proud to be a Yankee fan.

Lets not forget to thank the Mets for trading Reed to Boston...I'll add him to the player of the game list as he imploded in the 8th inning.Laughing

Always proud to be a Yankee fan.

I have to crow a little, I've been a big Hicks fan, even when he was playing for the Twinkies.. I think he's just beginning to come into his own.. If I"m not mistaking, he was like the a top ten player picked the year the Twins drafted him, I know he was their overall first pick that year.. He just never got off to a good start, but he has all the tools... Go Hicks, Go Yankees...
