Nunez is an adventure in the field and often too aggressive but I doubt the Red Sox are much more than a .500 team without him.

You've got to be kidding, he's putting the RS over the .500 ?? He's been hot for a week or so, lets see how he finishes the year.. But I doubt Nunez is a team changer, at least he never was with the other teams he played with......

I don't think I exaggerated.  I think the East os the Yankees' to lose.  The Red Sox are not special and have gotten a boost from Nunez and Devers.

Being a Yankee fan, I hate the Red Sox, but I'm smart enough to know on paper they are a pretty damn good team, they have good starting pitching and a decent bull pen, I don't think they have as good of pen as we do, but with Sale as their Ace they start any series better than we do.. I also think we can beat them, but we have to be at the top of our game.. I really don't care who's the best on paper, the game still has to be played on the field, but I'm sure most experts would give the RS a slight advantage... I'm still a Yankee fan and Lets Go Yankees...

I am just saying the team from the East will be a decoded underdog against the Astros or Indians.

Been around this game a long time, all the favorites are out the window in the playoffs, especially the first one, five games can be dominated or can be a sloppy lose, getting there is the name of the game.. If we get everyone healthy and with the additions this team has made, we have three very good starters, we have the best BP in baseball, (if they throw strikes) There's no reason this team can't win it all, and there's no reason we couldn't get blown out and never make the playoffs.. This division is tough, as tough as there is in baseball.. I'll not agree anyone is the favorite...

I agree any team can win a short series and I think this fact is lost on many fans.  Sale could be Cy Young or runner up but player for player the rest of the Sox don't strike me as world beaters.  There are definitely Astros, Indians, and Yankees I would fear more.

Nunez did not make a "bad play" last night. He tried to get to third so he could score on an out. That is the conventional wisdom. The fact that everyone is talking about the fine play of Hicks and even Frazier to get the out tells you that Nunez made a good decision. In this case, Nunez made the right decision but the Yankees made the great play. It happens.

All true, but had the throw been right at the bag, Frazier would have had time to go into the dugout for a drink and get back out before Nunez started his slide.

Seriously, it was a heads up play and a good, but not great, throw by Hicks but it was a great catch and tag by Frazier.

Cardinal rule in baseball is , if you are going to try to steal third, make sure you can make it.

Another cardinal rule in baseball..You do NOT tag up from 2nd base and try to advance on a fly to LF (especially against someone who has Hick's throwing arm)!

I agree, Nunez ran the Red Sox out of a potential big inning. Also the way to get Nunez out is for the Yanks to keep throwing pitches out of the strike zone. He will eventually swing at a bad pitch and pop up before his at bat is over.

We all saw his reaction, he wanted to score the tying run, but he got gunned down!
