Last year folks felt he worried more about golf than baseball. He seems to have different priorities this year. He came back in shape and mentally ready. The "best" part of the play last night was that his head was in the game. He reacted to the runner at once. I have to say that I did not think this would happen. I ragged on him the entired second half of the season in 2016.

He has all the tools.  He could be a monster steal for us.

I'm ready to be wrong about him but just as I show patience with young players, I need to see more than a half season of great play from him. No doubt he has been tremendous this season no doubt

He was a head scratcher what went wrong guy, hopefully he put it all together.  At 27 he has a lot of baseball ahead of him.

One never knows the background of these players before they are drafted.. I don't know if Hicks played in college or anything about him.. I doubt the Twins organization would put a lot of pressure on a young player playing for them, but being their first round pick that year might have had some added pressure to a kid coming up.. I don't remember him playing in the minors, or even how long he was there.. I just remember being in Minneapolis for a game against the Royals and he was starting in CF, he had three hits that day and threw out a runner trying to score at home, rocket arm, one bounced it with a perfect throw to nail the runner trying to score from second.. That was just one game, but the Twins are our local team in SD so I continued to watch him on TV when I wasn't watching the Yankees, he seemed to never put much together but still showed he had talent.. Hopefully he's found his place and plays up to what the Twins thought of him to make him a first round pick..
