Really? Because the Yanks led in the series 3-2, so obviously they had the ability to beat them.

You put this team in the hands of a better manager like Bruce Bochy and see how the win. Bochy won 3 times with a lesser offense and bullpen than the Yankees.

They made too many mistakes in Houston and missed too many pitches to hit.  Houston just would not go away. Oh well.  Nobody will be watching the world series, and the ratings will be in the gutter.

This young team needs to learn to win on the road. When you play that well at home, and that poorly on the road, the problem is psychological. They need to learn to channel the cheers at Yankee Stadium into cheers on the road, and drown on the road crowd. Either that, or finish the regular season with the best record overall (like the Dodgers, who are about to beat the Astros in the WS) did, and that way, all they have to do is exactly what Houston did...win every game at home, and who cares if you lose 20-0 on the road, having homefield advantage, you'll win it all...Just hold serve.

1. Hicks was useless at the plate. He should be a fourth outfielder, not an everyday starter.

2. Castro was underwhelming.

3. CC shouldn't come back. He is a 5 inning pitcher at best. Don't sign him for sentimental reasons.

Well said. You cannot win a championship without winning some games on the road. They need to hire some guys like O'Nell, Tino or Brosius as coaches and teach these guys the mentality of winning on the road.

It was a 3 hit shutout.

There was no fight.

This team took a hit on the glass chin and dropped.

It wasn't like the Yanks took the Astros down to the wire.

They got down 4-0 early on the road and said, "Yeah. We're done."

So, no. That team was not prepared.

how bout houston needing to learn to win on the road. if i'm not mistaken they were 0-3 against us on the road. as for us, you're talking about a bunch of kids who weren't expected to do anything and delivered beyond anyone's expectations. maybe the moment was too big for them or maybe they just got beat. the experience this season can only help them next year. and yes the moral is to win home field next season.
