I'm not a Girardi hater (wishing him well) I didn't like for most parts his in games decisions!  For example he carried Monty,  Garcia and Shreve LH pitchers and never used them to faced McCann and he beat us!

looking back at the past 23 years (that's almost a quarter of a century folks) we missed the playoffs 4 times.....   let's enjoy this ride!

As Yankee manager Girardi was also 200 games over .500.

average of 91 wins per year over a decade...  who wouldn't take that???

Remember Art, there were those that never appreciated Torre and were always calling for his head after what he did

yeah, 12 years of nothing but the post-season...  what he did in an era of a multi-tiered playoff system was very impressive...  I'll never take anything away from our past great managers but they went straight to the series if they finished first...   we will NEVER see another 12 years like that again.

Whoever takes over as the Yankees' manager won't have much pressure on him...He will only have to win the World Series in 2018, to prove he was worthy of the job, since after the season the Yankees just had, anything short of raising the championship trophy in 2018 will be seen as a total failure in NY.

I think just making the WS next year would be the goal....  2019 will be a win or get fired year...

Just a guess but...Ownership that wants a push button manager that doesn't mind taking marching orders from the top?

I don't fault ownership - they gave him 10 years and they should be happy with the results and they felt it was time to bring in a new guy - it's the fans who can't appreciate Girardi and what he did here is who I have problems with!

I just want to make It clear I am not a Girardi hater, I liked him I just thought 10 years was enough time to win more then 1 Championship and It was time to move on.

I really thought the years we had Drew playing SS/2B along with all the other 2B guys we were trotting out there weekly and Capuano was in our rotation were wasted years where we had so much better talent than everyone else!!

But were Yankees fans were spoiled When I was a teenager It seemed we won the world Series every year. Theres the Yankees and theres everybody else. Like It or not there are different expectations for the New York Yankees thats just the way it is.
